I would like your opinion on this situation. I'm creating the following names for the purpose of identification:

Tammy

Tasha(Tammy's best friend)

Greg(Tasha's brother)

Tammy disclosed to Tasha that she has the hots for Greg and that she wanted to be in a relationship with him. Tasha advised Tammy to post flirty remarks for Greg on her page so that he would see it. Tasha also told Tammy that she would invite her over when they were just hanging out.

Tammy pursued Greg for months and thought that she was making progress. Tammy even got into disputes with his other female friends if she felt like they wanted Greg as well. Greg asked her multiple times to cease her behavior because she was causing problems but Tammy continued. Tammy assumed that the problems were other females getting jealous of her and complaining to Greg, so she turned things up a notch.

It eventually came out that Greg was in a serious relationship with someone. That was the problem that Tammy was causing for Greg. Greg's girlfriend was aware of what Tammy was doing and was at wit's ends with her ways.

Now, Tammy is very upset with Tasha because Tasha never mentioned that Greg was dating anyone. Tasha claims that she didn't know Greg was dating anyone but Tammy does not understand how a person could not know that their brother is dating/sleeping with someone.

Tammy is very hurt and feels like her best friend Tasha allowed her to build her hopes up and lead her to believe something could blossum.

Do you think it was Tasha's responsibility to let Tammy know?

So, tammy, tasha and greg are all about 12yrs old right?

My sister doesn't know who I'm dating/sleeping with at all points in time.

I think Greg should have told Tammy but he was enjoying the attention too much. Clearly Greg's girlfriend should dump him.

Exactly nothing in your story suggests or proves that Tasha even knew...

LOTS of people wouldn't let their sibling(s) know if/who they are dating.

Apparently Tammy did. Girl code is generally about feelings and not a quantitative logical review of events, hence it varies from moment to moment and girl to girl.

There is no magic formula or secret decoder ring. Sorry.

Tasha is in her 40's.

He wasn't best friends with Tammy. This is more so about Tammy and Tasha's friendship.

40s??...

That's not the point. He should have told the woman that he was serious about someone. He is the only culpable one here.

This is all awfully immature for a bunch of oldies, no disrespect (and I'm 42).

Problem is the girl should of told her brother that her GF wanted to date him.

At point the brother should of said the truth:

A. I have a GF already.

B. that thought makes me want to puke.

C. wow she's hot, I never thought I had a chance with her, yes I want to date her.

D. GF should of, could of spoken directly to the brother.

Instead everyone just danced around subject.

I think Greg felt he was being conspired on by Tammy and his sister, so he put his sister out of the loop to regain control of his own situation. And since Tammy was trying to run off girlfriends, why would he let her or his sister know when he found one he really liked. Greg doesn't like Tammy. It's nice that Tasha was okay with Tammy dating her brother, and I don't think she did anything wrong. But Tammy needs to stop chasing him because he doesn't want her.

They are all kind of bone headed. Once Tammy made her intentions known Greg should have told Tammy & Tasha his sister, Thanks. I'm flattered but I have a GF. Why Greg let this go on all this time is ridiculous.

Yes, Tasha's the oldest and she may even be older than you.

Greg and his girlfriend are of different races and the girlfriend's father IS NOT ok with her dating outside of her race. They tip toe around the father and are careful about allowing the details of their situation out. I have no idea if Greg told his sister that he was dating anyone but he is selective about who he tells. They are trying to warm the father up to the idea first.

My personal opinion about it is that I dont' think women are wired to pursue men. It should be the other way around. In my eyes, Tammy has no one to blame but herself. Had she treated herself like the prize, she wouldn't be in this position. Men don't like to be chased. That's just me though and was curious about what others thought.

Posted

^ Well, that may be why he kept it quiet. So Tammy and Tasha put him in an awkward situation if that is the case.

Posted

Everybody loves to be chased.

Tammy did not set herself up for disappointment by chasing Greg. She's not to be punished because she was independent enough to seek out a relationship she wanted.

At 42 it makes sense to me that a sister might not know a brother was dating, especially if the brother kept in on the down low because his racist father would not approve.

Still, the person most at fault here remains Greg for not speaking up sooner.

The girlfriend's father is the racist one.

You're telling me that guy's like to be chased? Honestly, that is new to me. I always thought they were turned off by it and viewed the females as desperate.

They might not like the hard sell but everyone enjoy attention & flattery. Like anything else there is an art to it.

That's how I am. If my brother presented one of his friends to me, I normally tell them fairly quickly that I am not interested.

I think it was junvenile of both ladies to talk and then base actions upon this. It is like schoolgirls hatching plans to leave valentine cards in the school register.

Greg has every right no matter what his father or anyone thinks not to disclose his personal life to anyone whether they are family or not.

Greg spoke up when things just got seriously awkward.

He isn't to blame in the least unless..... he was outwardly flirting with Tammy and it was obvious to all. If he wanted to cover up a RS then there is no need to outwardly flirt with another in order to do that.

If he was doing that then he should have told Tammy his situation (whether he told his sister or not).

I just feel like Tasha got the short end of the stick. Her and Tammy don't speak anymore. Not how they use to.

If she knew then she should have said something.

It's normal for siblings not to know each other's dating/sex lives.... I'm usually in the dark about who my Sister is dating until they get serious.
