Appropriate dating time frame post break-up

Hi there,

I'm struggling with this issue, and thought I would reach out to my online support group. I dated a man for almost 3 months, and we called it off last weekend (February 28th). I am wondering what the appropriate amount of time would be to start dating again (being sensitive to the break-up). Though, we had a lot in common on the surface, there were ideas about the deeper issues, that just weren't meshing. We just weren't on the same page with communication. It was a fairly mutual decision, but more so on his part (mainly to do with ego-as he did not like me telling him how I felt, as it didn't mesh with his ideas) It was a sudden thing. Please give me insight, as to when it's appropriate to move on with dating, and not look insensitive, or promiscuous. Thank you!! Be honest! I need honesty. Thanks in advance friends

Start dating again when you feel ready, which sounds like is now. Do you have a candidate in mind? If you are worried about being thought prmiscuous, then don't sleep with your new person right away (not a great idea to do anyways).

You can date whenever you are ready no matter the length of the prior relationship. This was only a 90 day interaction. If you are ready to date now, go for it. If you need time, take it.

You should start dating right away, even if you don't feel like it... it will make you feel better....nothing will take your mind off it like a new man can.

Thanks guys. I don't have another candidate in mind. I was just thinking about perhaps putting myself out there again, in the online dating world. I'm going to be 41 next month and it seems the older you get, the harder it is to find a compatible match! Life was so much easier in the dating world when you weren't jaded by past experience!! You guys are great!
