Jergens92003 Posted April 6, 2005 Posted April 6, 2005 I finally admitted to a guy who I have been chatting with for about 3 months ...that I fancied him! He replied he was flattered....Question 1 - How do I interpret that? Well we are going out for the first time on Friday...he suggested that I chose the place...so I chose this pub near the beach (I'm in the Caribbean)....Question 2 - Is that a good place to choose? Can you please advise all the do's and don'ts for this first 'date'!!!! I havent done this in a while. Since I got out of my last relationship I just swamped myself in work!!!! I'm an engineer....can the girls out there give me hints on what to wear also! I am a casual dresser...jeans and shirts. I also have long curly hair....leave it loose or do it up??? Man I need help... Im so nervous...the thing is I am not shy! But now I dont understand why I have sweaty palms
paradox Posted April 6, 2005 Posted April 6, 2005 Don't overdress or else it might look like you'r putting too much effort into this. I usually never wear skirts on the firts dates. I'd say wear something stylish but simple at the same time..like jeans with some nice top. Depends on your features of course, but don't overdo with make up as well. Overall just be yourself(don't lie about some small/ big stuff.it just that women tend to do this and it all comes out at the end anyway and doesn't do any good). Don't pretend to be what you are not and that will give you confidence. After all you want to know if he likes you the way you are. If yes than you met the right person and if not then well there is plenty more fish in the sea Oh yea i think perfume is a must If you'l date him during the day go for light kind of one, if it's in the eve bit stronger. Well, hope that's useful.

I was just trying on a skirt and top and thought....hmm this might look like I am trying to impress him. So I decided on a light pink/peach top and some good fitting jeans. Thanks for the advice..... As for the perfume...I think I will try - Ralph Lauren 'Cool'......
paradox Posted April 7, 2005 Posted April 7, 2005 Yea that sounds good;) As for hair there is nothing wrong with leaving it out. I think the best thing is just to be yourself and look like a woman who looks after herself (i.e clean hair, manicure.,etc).

Don't be too heavy with the perfume...some girls often overdo it, and seem to walk around in a cloud for the whole evening. It gives me a headachce when they stand near me. And definately wear your hair out..long flowing hair down your back is very sexy. Try and be smiley and chirpy and positive, everyone likes happy people. Hope you have a WONDERFUL time, let us know how it goes!

My family goes to St. Maarten every year for New Years, and my favorite thing about it is to go to this bar on the beach for New Years eve. I have always thought what a perfect date that is. Its peaceful, fun, laid back and romantic. I think the outfit you picked is perfect. Relax and have fun! First dates are the best!

We had a couple drinks and the bar then sat about chatting! The thing is he was pretty forward....I was a bit taken aback. When I got in the car, he put his hand on mine and was very playfull with my fingers......just messing about! I enjoyed it! I ended up wearing some snug jeans, and a cute top....hair loose as well....he is a bit tall so i had to do some wedge heels... Im still smiling from last night
