Where is the market for metalhead gamers in their 40s these days? #geek4life

There's a market for it!

I'm a fellow metalhead gamer. :D:cool:

 Don't get me started on sushi. Sooo many pics on Facebook of sushi rolls. Around here, every girl loves sushi and Chipotle. They drink Barefoot brand moscato wine and take shots of Fireball. They're all the same.

Now... does one have to inherently stay away from those things in order to "not be the same"?

If they're all cast from that same mold, does that mean anyone else who happens to like some of those things is suddenly less valuable?

I personally wouldn't say so.

I love sushi. I've loved it since I was a little girl. I'm pretty sure it wasn't the "cool" or "trendy" thing to do when I was 4, lol. It was as simple as my dad going deep sea fishing, bringing home tuna, and he'd slice us off some raw pieces and we'd dip it in soy sauce.

I can pretty much instantly bond with anyone who loves '70s glam rock. I have more than one era though. I also love the psychedelic era and earliest '70s punk rock and late eighties hair bands.

I am glad my wife and I have similiar tastes in music. I can't believe some of the stuff I let my ex drag me to.

It increases my attraction to them if they have similar tastes. I listen to a wide range of genres so I usually get along with everyone, but when she listens to similar things as well? That's definitely a turn on, but it would never be a dealbreaker for me if she liked music that I didn't.

Being open minded is equally attractive.

I once had a wonderful relationship with a woman who liked country music. In the entire history of the world, there is only one country artist I could stand. When we weren't with each other, she listened to her music, and I listened to what I liked. It was never an issue.

When looking for a relationship, you are not looking for common interests. You are looking for one common interest - interest in each other. Who doesn't like walks on the beach?! If you both are easy to get along with, you'll find a ton of things to do together. Do you smell the coffee date?!

For a happy and healthy relationship that will go the distance, you both need to be easy to get along with. Control freaks need not apply :D

Wouldn't bother me at all, but - though I listen to music, and I like what I like - I'm not passionate about it.

I'm highly passionate about sport so a girl who's enthusiasm for sport, or outdoor pursuits, mirrored mine would definitely increase my attraction to her and could tbh be a dealbreaker if she didn't share it at all.

So I could understand why a music lover would be influenced by a mates musical taste!

Haha my missus proclaims to hate my country music...hence why I put it on nice and loud in the car!

See I feel quite the opposite!

I am a music lover and am very passionate about music. I'm a classically trained musician who can play many instruments and who finds something to appreciate in almost any genre.

Because of this, I am even MORE open minded about others' tastes, even if the particular kind of music they like isn't one that I choose to listen to.

I don't personally listen to country. Does nothing for me (although that "truck yeah" song got stuck in my head a few times), but I understand HOW others can like it, and appreciate that there is something there that speaks to those who like it.

I don't like the band String Cheese Incident. The style does nothing for me. But I appreciate that they are incredibly talented musicians, and have a lot of respect for them.

When you empathize with the fact that different types of music evoke strong feelings and emotions for others, you can learn to respect that, even if it does not evoke those same feelings for you.
