nyfan1992 Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 On a few occasions recently, my girlfriend has said that she's falling for me. She also said she's never felt this way about someone else before. This happens after we have a late night conversation reminiscing about how we met and talking about how we feel about each other. We haven't said "I love you" yet, as im sure she's waiting for me to say it first and I'm not planning on doing it until we go on vacation together in a few weeks. Since I want to wait, I'll just say "yeah I'm falling for you too" or "I feel the same way". Is saying that she's falling for me her way of saying "I love you"?
Fhsjkfjrhsdh3646 Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 I'm not an expert on the subject matter by any means - but I don't think you should have to wait to say I love you. If the moment feels right and it's how you feel, don't hold back and say something lesser in the hopes for a more "perfect" moment in the future! Not everything has to be like in the movies 2
Author nyfan1992 Posted February 26, 2015 Author Posted February 26, 2015 I agree completely but I want to say it to her in person and that won't be until we're on vacation together in 2 weeks.

Gary S Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 How long have you been dating? Do you see each other at least once a month or more? Let me know and I'll tell you.
Author nyfan1992 Posted February 26, 2015 Author Posted February 26, 2015 How long have you been dating? Do you see each other at least once a month or more? Let me know and I'll tell you. We've been dating since October but she goes to school far away so I only see her every 2 months but when she's home we see each other almost every day.
Gary S Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 Hmmmm, that's a tricky one... like a long-distance relationship. When people are apart for that long, sometimes they don't fall completely in love. I suspect she would if you two were seldom away from each other for no more than a week at a time. College is rough on relationships. I have no doubt she is at least really falling for you, and feels a high level of love for you. But I'm not sure she is in love you. You'll have to go with your gut on that one. On a side-note, don't worry about telling her you love her... some guys only say it a few times in their lifetime... such as when there is a dramatic or traumatic event... for example, if she has a car accident, or you two have a baby together. Don't buy into the pop-psychology that men should act like women... they are slightly different in some ways, this is one of them. I was in a great relationship for eight years once... at one point, my girlfriend held my shoulders, shook me, and said, "Say it! Say it"! I did not say it, and it did not hurt the relationship at all. What's the matter, you don't like Squint Eastwood?! 1
Author nyfan1992 Posted February 26, 2015 Author Posted February 26, 2015 Thanks for the advice Gary. I agree completely that college can be difficult but for some reason it's been easy for us. If anything the distance has made us closer. We've found ways to see each other in between breaks so we are not distant for that long. I'm really amazed at how well we're doing given the circumstances.
