Should I do the NC thing and shut him out of my life completely?

Ok so quick update. I got help with the drinking and have been completely sober for almost one month. Now the ex and I talk. Big mistake I know, but he started talking to me and sitting by me in class. Now he flirts with me. I hate it. I don't know what to think about it, and it sends all those old feelings back into my stomach. I love him, and I know I can't put myself through this. But why does he flirt with me? I mean, he says he just wants to be friends ( I know this is true), but the way he acts is so different. I know I need to tell him this is too hard for me now, but the semester is almost over (in about 4 weeks). Then, I never have to see him or talk to him again if I don't want to. Even yesterday, he asked me about the drinking. I answered him honestly that I hadn't. I'd just like to know why he is flirting with me so much. And should I pull the no contact (he's helping me move May 11th) thanks!

He may send all those feeling back to you but what makes you think things are going to be different this time. If the beginning they might be, but things start getting comfy again and it goes Right back to square 1. Do you self a favor and continue NC. Don't talk to him. See if you can pull off being friends. Its hard but you have to be strong. Its hard tho since he's in the same class as you. Put your foot down and do NOT let him get the upper hand.

if you really really really still "love" him then i don't see why you can't keep talking to him. just ask him what's up. he'll tell you if he wants to get back or not. then tell him what you expect from him. just talk it out. you can give it another try but don't take any crap from him. if he has no intention of getting back or if he just wants to be friends, then you gotta maintain no contact. good luck
