Im in the eastcoast area and tomorrow the high is expected to be 19 and the low will be 6. So I thought about calling her tonight and suggesting we postpone to Saturday so we won't have to be out in temps that low

It does suck though because the weather has kind of ruined my 3 day weekend which means I will be calling out sick on a Monday the first week of March.

So it's not a cancellation it's a reschedule due to dangerous cold weather.

Don't cancel. Dress in layers. Do an indoor activity. You will be found.

The weather in my area has ranged from -40 C to -15 C since the holidays.

Put some ***** clothes on.

I just spent a lovely Valentine's weekend in a city whose high was 9 today, and I'm from a place where we just don't have temps like that. It was fun, lots of restaurants and indoor mini golf, etc. There are plenty of ways to stay out of the cold. Don't cancel.

6 degrees is cold, yes, but you don't have to go swimming in the sea! Don't you have indoor places where you live? What guy would postpone a date because of the weather? I can't imagine that unless it's really dangerous, like freezing or below, or serious fog or hurricane strength winds.

I started getting the feeling because I went out to get some lunch and it was so windy and cold. Plus I am not driving so I would be more exposed to the cold than she would be which is why I thought about rescheduling

Unless I suggest a place close to home where I can walk to it so that maybe a thought

6 is a daytime high at the moment where I live.

I'm also confused as to why you are planning a sick day in March. Sick days are for when you are sick. I've never heard of someone planning them.

We must be in the same area. Same here!

6 F = -14C

I wish it were 6F this morning! -23 + windshield factor it feels -30.

OP unless there is a weather alert asking people to stay home just bundle up and go to your date.

If a date for a first meet cancelled on me because it was a bit cold id certainly not give them a 2nd chance. Man up and wear warm clothes

Dangerous cold weather hahaha

U go from the car to the restaurant and back to the car. Youre the man or woman? Hahaha

If you're considering cancelling just because it's a bit nippy, then you don't seem all that interested in meeting.

I would cancel, it's pointless wasting her time if you're not even interested.

Depending upon where you are, we're also getting about 5-10 inches of snow beginning tonight and going until Tuesday morning. So yeah, it might be a good idea to cancel for that.

What does being a man or a woman have anything to do with this?

Oooh, I see what you've done! You tried to ridicule his manhood by implying he might be a woman.

Understandable that you're not driving so it's not the easy jump out and jump in. See if you can pick a place close by and if she's driving I'm sure she'll understand. Layer up, hat, socks, gloves and all. Don't cancel or reschedule since this is your first meet. Not the first impression you want to make.

If she wants to cancel because of "weather", let her be the one. I once had a first date a few hours before a blizzard was about to hit. She never cancelled, so why should I?

Posted

Wait. Aren't you the guy who cancelled due to rain a while back? Smh

No don't cancel. Cold weather is a great excuse to snuggle or at least make physical contact.

Oh, that's so wimpy. Total turn off.

Because I have only used one sick day since starting my job in 2013 and the month of March has no holidays.

I decided to schedule for us to me around the corner from where I live so I won't have to be out in that cold weather too long.

I was concerned about her getting sick which is why I asked if she was ok with meeting me today.

when the news said it would be single digit temps I just felt that a better time to meet is when it was not so cold.

But i have decided to meet her 3 mins from where I live this afternoon

I guess when it comes to first meeting I always wanted the weather to be nice. I mean I may want to extend the date if things are going well so if the weather is not good then that may not be a option
