snappytomcat Posted February 13, 2015 Posted February 13, 2015 ok hopefully im in the right forum so on Tuesday night I got a zit on my chin, and well im to old for those, and I hate them,so I found some Clearasil that my daughter left here. well next morning my face was all red,and itchy feels like a chemical burn, maybe im allergic to it,but it does feel like a burn anyways what can I use to cleanse and moisturize that you can recommend to me,keep in mind I have extremely oily skin any advice would be helpful,i did throw that crap in the trash thanks in advance
rocketman122 Posted February 13, 2015 Posted February 13, 2015 I always have little bottle of acnemycin so when i shave my face i can slow down the irritation. NeUtragena make nice stuff. Soaps and stuff like that. When im out of anything i simply use soap water then use some spirit salicyl with a cotton ball or paper towel 1
amaysngrace Posted February 13, 2015 Posted February 13, 2015 I agree with neutogena products. They're cheap and they're good. I have sensitive skin...very...and never had a problem. I use "on the spot" for pimples. 1
CrystalShine2011 Posted February 13, 2015 Posted February 13, 2015 Watch for the Sycillic acid (sp?)...usually in a strong product it will be 2%...you may be allergic to it or need something for sensitive skin. 1
Maleficent Posted February 13, 2015 Posted February 13, 2015 Get yourself sone tea tree oil ... I'm told toothpaste works well overnight. 2
guest569 Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 I've had the same reaction to clearsasil too., I think you need a very, very gentle cleanser if any, and gentle moisturise , i find cetaphil to be pretty good. Try to avoid using any products at all on your chin for a bit 1
regine_phalange Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 I rarely break out, but when I do I just use alcohol (externally ) Some people try aspirin mask too. You can try if you are not allergic to it. For cleansing, I'd use something for sensitive skins. A pharmaceutical brand preferably. 1
Author snappytomcat Posted February 14, 2015 Author Posted February 14, 2015 thank you all for your advice I used cetaphil and Neutrogena lotion and its much better today, wow what an awful reaction,i think im sensitive to benzoyl peroxide, never use it again
whichwayisup Posted February 15, 2015 Posted February 15, 2015 When a pimple decides to make an appearance on my face, I get a washcloth and boil water, then dip the washcloth in it, then onto the zit until I can squeeze the pus out. let it bleed, you need to get the root of the zit so it won't come back. Then once it scabs over, when you go to bed put toothpaste on it (white paste, not blue or green!) the next day the redness is gone, though a lite scab will still be there for a few days. 1
Els Posted February 15, 2015 Posted February 15, 2015 How much of it did you put and what % was it? Anyway, yeah, could've been an allergic reaction. All chemicals that kill acne are inherently harsh, they have to be to work, but some people react worse to certain chemicals than others. 1
Ninjainpajamas Posted February 15, 2015 Posted February 15, 2015 There is a chemical/ingredient being used that can really really dry and irritate the skin causing it torn red and turn very dry...but if you only have one lonesome pimple I really wouldn't panic and start using ointments. If you have sensitive skin then it's not really unexpected...If i use certain detergents they irritate the hell out of my skin and make it very red...but it's not like the ingredient in acne medication that drys out the skin. 1

I just put some on a zit on my chin, ive noticed the older I get the more sensitive my skin has become is that possible?i remember years ago I used Clearasil no problem at all
