Well, as I'm sure you all know, valentines day is this Saturday. My problem is that I only really have tomorrow to act on the issue and am in a position where I know absolutely no one who can help me with my problem which brings me to this forum. As a 16 year old high school male, I'll confess and state that I've never had a girlfriend before so, I'm rather quite the novice to this whole lingo. In any case, I've made it my goal either tomorrow to ask her out for valentines day (if there's school since we might have a snowday due to weather) or ask her out early next week if school gets canceled and also give her a valentine card I made for this event. Honestly, I feel confident and I think I can push myself to ask her out, but the weather is really going to be the deal breaker for this holiday plan here.

The issue is, in my high school we have these so called "Homeroom" classes that serve as break periods for students and last for 10 or so minutes. When it's homeroom period, all of the kids go to their designated classroom and remain in their specified class; these classes never switch from freshman -senior year. While in homeroom, our teacher let's us talk, use our phones, no assigned seats, and doesn't really care what we do with our given time. Despite how hard this is going to be to elaborate, I'm going to try and paint an image as best I can so that you can visualize my scene in class. When I sit in my 'normal' desk, I sit in a so called '4 square quadrant' of four desks that form a sort-of box facing the front of the classroom with only me and the girl sitting in this quadrant. Within this quadrant, (from overhead view) I sit in the bottom left-hand corner seat and she sits on the upper right (basically criss-cross). For a few days last week, we did sit next to one another but, since we barely talked to one another I'm pretty sure that she moved to the seat in front of her to make things feel less awkward.

Nevertheless, I was planning on asking her out during breakfast period (our 15 minute period each morning where students arrive in the building) where she normally sits by herself for a few minutes until her friends arrive. I have in mind to ask her out tommorow and don't mind if I get rejected. To me, the rejection is the least of my worries since I could ignore her from that point on if I so desired. The main point and problem is going back on what I said about the weather. IF there is indeed a snow day tomorrow and school gets canceled, I'm going to have to wait until Monday to ask this girl out, and even if she says yes to my offer, I'm probably not going to be able to do much with her until the weekend arrives due to school scheduling which ultimately leaves me in my awkward spot for a the rest of the week which is going to make things SUPER AWKWARD. Not only would I need to somehow sit next to her, but I'd also have to come up with SOME sort of conversation with her for the next 5 days BEFORE the real date is even started. So now I'm so clueless with what to do right now!

Well folks, you guys are really now my only honest hope on this problem since Valentines Day is tomorrow and I don't have many friends who are too inspiring to talk about this issue with. I don't want to back down on this but, if I don't get many responses, I think I'll just go ahead and call it quits since this is so much for me to handle with so little experience.

Thanks!

Planning a first date on Valentine's day is tough for even those more seasoned daters (us old people) but honestly you miss 100% of the shots you don't take. Ask her out, if she can't go out this Saturday don't be upset as it's pretty short notice and a holiday weekend. Maybe next weekend would be better all around. If she can that would be great. What is the plan for the date? Dinner? Movie?

Damn. 23 views and only 1 response?

My main intention was to take her out for lunch, go see a movie, and finish up the day with ice cream. I personally like the idea but some would argue otherwise about the movie. If not that plan, than I was thinking of going out for coffee or dinner. However, as I wrote above in my post, I'm still very concientious about the time spacing due to the weather if anyone has any advice on the matter.

Keep it simple. You're 16. You're going to fail many times and don't worry, just brush it off and keep trying :)

As to pre planning your date, it's great to pre plan it but it doesn't work out all the time. Girls are simple and kudos to you for starting at such a young age. Wish I did that when I was 16. Have fun :)
