Put your efforts in to moving on because if anything would attract them back then it would be that... but once u have moved on u won't care if they come back or not x

I don't know if I'm officially the dumper or not. It was a mutual breakup but more pushed by me I guess. I tried to get her back after a week realizing what a mistake I made but she told me therapy made her realize her needs had changed (I think it was actually another guy). When she told me about the guy a week later I tried once more to get back with her, but she was so reluctant and hesitant that I knew it wouldn't work then and I had to move on. Now I'm at 4 month post BU, I still want her back but there's nothing I can really do. So I guess she got to be the dumper in the end.

They do sometimes come back. From what I see, maybe 50/50 after you have gone away with NC for 3 or more months. Happened to me, but it wasn't that she wanted back. I think she and I were both just curious and we were bored in our current situations. Even if they do come back, I hear it rarely ever works and is just a waste of time, time that you end up wishing you had spent trying to find the right one for you. Do not wait around and hold out that it will happen. It most likely happens after you have moved on.

This is great advice, use it. Print it off in large bold fonts and pin it to your wall.

I was the dumper in a 2-year relationship (six months LD) that ended years ago. I realized about two weeks later that I thought I'd made a mistake and tried to get her back, but she gave me the "we broke up for a reason" line and I was heartbroken. In a way, I went from dumper to dumpee at that point.

I later found out that she had been keeping another guy on the back-burner and was secretly glad when I ended it so I could spare her the guilt. She moved on to the other guy right away and they are now happily married.

I guess in a way that's a happy ending, because had we stayed together, we'd have broken up eventually anyway. We were just too different, but it took me a while to realize that.
