JOkER2 Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 I found out that this women I work with is going to try to hook up with me when a group of us go out for drinks. I've dated at work once b4 and it really ended bad so there's no way I'm going to do this. What's a nice professional way to do this?
d0nnivain Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 Start a general conversation among everybody about how you think dating or fooling around at work is a bad idea. Hopefully it will prevent her from even trying. Or As she starts, maneuver her off by the side. Quietly tell her you are flattered & under other circumstances maybe but since you work together you have a rule against fraternization. Then never mention it again.
Author JOkER2 Posted February 7, 2015 Author Posted February 7, 2015 Thanks. Ya I was thinking of saying I'm flattered I really am but I don't mess around with anyone I work with. 1
GTR King Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 I say best not to date her as things could end badly... but if you do have feeling for her then take things slow and not rush into anything.
Jessie1231 Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 Since you're going out with a group, just avoid being alone with her so she won't have a chance. If you do end up alone with her, just do what the others said. Politely say that you're flattered but you've tried this before and know from experience it can be too hard and you don't want to try again. 1
