LookAtThisPOst Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 This is funny...I was browsing my back water area...and came across a few profiles that seemed fishy to me as they seemed tdo have the same cookie cutter format...they've left most of their stats blank. This usually happens in the WEE hours of the morning and I got a message from one of them with OK Cupid giving me a warning (In RED letters) to becareful of scams. Please Can You tell me more about Yourself and You can text me On here seven,eight,six,four,seven.one.0155 please text me or email me meganmorin514 @ yahoo.com Also...a phone # was entered, too.
Shining One Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 I've seen these on Match, but they're taken down very quickly. I don't know what the intended purpose is.
PegNosePete Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 More than likely it's these guys... http://www.romancescam.com They can be pretty funny to play with. Make a burner email account and have a chat. Just remember it's all FAKE and don't give out ANY personal information. Bait safe. 1
GemmaUK Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 I've only been on a couple of dating sites in the past but on both I would get scammers now and then. They're easy to spot. I just block and report them. They're usually banned and off the site within seconds.
kolleamm Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 I think I had those before everytime I log....I mean sign up lol yeah that site pisses me off that much
CrystalShine2011 Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 Sounds like a scam! But I will say this, I met my boyfriend on OKCupid and could not be happier! Going on 2 years. 1
MissBee Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 Nope, never had any of those. Haven't had that happen either. But it would go the way of many messages: ignore.
Author LookAtThisPOst Posted February 12, 2015 Author Posted February 12, 2015 The tell-tale way you can tell is if with a woman, she picks an age range where she's willing to date men in the AARP card carrying range even though she's in her 30's Plus they also typically only fill out the only the "Self Summary", but the age is the tip off.
mario_C Posted February 13, 2015 Posted February 13, 2015 Printing a phone number (spelled out!) and private eMail for a first message usually indicates sex worker or mail order bride situation. Especially with no stats at all. Yeah, report it to OKC and block it.
