JazzAndCookies Posted March 31, 2005 Posted March 31, 2005 Hi, I met a beautiful woman over the internet and we have been talking for almost 2 months via email and chat. She is in another country and I am attracted to her. I have also been a member of a local dating service and met someone locally about 2 months ago. She is also very beautiful and very nice to talk to. We met in February, but didn't go on our first date until last week. Usually my dates/relationships from dating services don't work out so I have tried to meet lots of people at the same time. But soon I would like to choose between one of these women. I am wondering how far I should take things. What is expected? I would not feel comfortable making out with someone while talking romantically with another girlfriend. But how can I keep the intimacy from growing in the relationship too much before I have committed? I usually have a hard time meeting women and I've never been "dating" two people at the same time. LDR's just do not work out, sorry - but they dont. they certainly won't if its from a dating site either. this online dating thing is EXTREMELY fickle, and just DO NOT go there if its an online LDR!!!!!!!!!

Actually, JAZZ&COOKIES, you are dating zero women. One is in another country and the second you met seven days ago. Come back in 6 months and if you still have this dilemma at that time then we can address it.

You missed the double quotes " " around the word dating, effectively nullifying any attempt at a literal interpretation of the word.

If he meets the woman in the other country and starts really dating her and continues to date the one he met last wk then the questioon would be valid a few months down the road. He has put the cart before the horse, so to speak.
miggsbucks Posted April 5, 2005 Posted April 5, 2005 yeah i must admit, he doesnt really have a dilemma yet, ive been thru loadsa crap me, and that, to be honest does not seem like crap.. its like he's trying to predict the crap he'll go thru before he goes thru it, thats why i told him to bin the LDR if he wants to be pro-active, which is what he is trying to be - from his original post, still thought ur coment was a bit shady mate as it made him out to look like an ass when he was only asking for advice lol
