Monodare1 Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 Hi guys Struggling with this and hoping for thoughts, I'm separated now for just over a year and a half. The ex moved on after only 5 months and I met someone after 10 months. Initially the relationship was going well, we only seen each other every one to two weeks as she is a nurse and works varying shifts, days and nights. The trouble is, when I stay at hers, the conversation is practically zero, we are not having much sexual contact and on her days off, when I'm staying over, she lays in until 2-3 in the afternoon, while I'm awake and ready for the day at 8-9am. Mi have a little boy with my ex and my girlfriend, doesn't talk much to him either. I'm quite a sociable person and quite talkative, but when I stay over, we hardly talk and she only gives one word or one sentence answers, then we stare awkwardly at the tv. I'm not sure about the relationship anymore but I like to give people a chance, can anyone offer pointers?
MJJean Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 Nursing is an exhausting job both mentally and physically. I've heard others married to or dating nurses who have the same complaints. Chances are your nurse is simply exhausted and doesn't have the energy to be as active and social as you'd like. It's also possible she just isn't the talkative and social type. Either way, talk to her. Ask her why. Then process her answers and decide if you can be happy with the differences between you or if it's time to move on.
