Ex of my longest relationship ever contacted me after 1y and a half

That is what I call a probing text. Sometimes I will cut them off sometimes I will indulge them.

 

Since I split with my cheat ex in October, 2 ex girlfriends have contacted me. One from from 4 years ago and one from 10 years ago. I guess I just left that kind of impression on them lolol

No, I don't think you are not over your ex. It is human nature to wonder why she is contacting you after all this time. I had an ex contacting me after 10 years and I thought he just wanted to be friends. Until I got the: 'I think you might be the one.' Uhm no, I am not.

 

This is an advise forum, you are posting in the 'Break up section'. I understand a lot of people here are hurting and implementing NC. I understand you are further along and no longer desire to have a relationship, but are just curious about why the hell she is contacting you after 1,5 years. If you can handle it and no longer have any feelings (or will get back any feelings), just wait and see. She will contact you again if she wants something other than making amends.

In our time apart, he haz been to jail and has been diagnosed with severe mental problems.

 

The first time he dumped me, he let his female neighbor handle our break up conversation. The second break up, it was just my ego that was bruised anx I was fine within two weeks.

 

He didn't even remember we were dating seriously, and tried to down play the break ups. No way buddy, the first break up hurt me to my core. No down playing for you.

 

I was nice and civil when I told him that round three was not an option, but I kinda barfed in my mouth.

Well thank you for this reply! Indeed, I think it is human nature to ask yourself questions when an ex suddenly texts you after 1.5 years of NC. That has nothing to do with not being over her, but everything with asking yourself why the hell she does it now. As far as I am concerned she wished me a happy new year and a happy birthday..For me now she has no more reason to contact me again. And it's been 3 days since my birthday and no more texts so I think you guys above were right when you said she probably does not want an enemy or someone who she knows is mad at her. Why she needs that kind of peace after 1.5years of NC is beyond me...Thats why you ask yourself questions...which is kind of normal I guess

Firstly, I would say. Despite your protests your not completely over her!. Would you take her back if she said she wanted to?. If the answers yes....

 

 

Say, its great to hear from you, would love to catch up, when are you free to hook up?. If she says yes, say great come over to my place and ill cook dinner. If she is hesitant and wants to meet somewhere. Say well its been a long week and I am tired. Give me a shout in a few weeks and we can do something more formal when I am less busy. See what her response is to that?. Be indifferent.

 

 

Either way never mention to her getting back together. Wait for her to bring it up!. Just hang out and have fun in the meantime.

 

 

Otherwise, if you don't want to catch up with her or meet her. Ignore her texts or tell her to go pound salt or something.
