sterlingarcher
Isn't it ironic how friends, whom you may have known for 20 years, stop seing you because they are now in a relationship with someone they met 2 years ago? Then 5 years down the line they break up or divorce.
d0nnivain
Relationships ebb & flow over the years. When people have new romances, they often lose touch with old friendships. There are only so many hours in a day. That doesn't mean the friendship doesn't matter but that priorities change. Last night I was with a childhood friend that I have rarely seen over the last 20 years. She has 3 kids. I don't have kids. We had different lifestyles. Now that her kids are growing up, she has more free time.
Author sterlingarcher
I'm starting to understand how it must feel like for the singles in their late twenties seing all their friends getting pregnant and married. I think I need more new friends.

He wants to talk about his kids and mortgages, etc and I want to talk about dates, how to attract women, etc. We just can't relate anymore. That doesn't mean I don't care for him but people grow up and priorities change. I'm sure one day when we're old and I hopefully have gotten married and have kids who are then grown we'll catch up again but for now we seem to be going in different directions.
