I learned not to take facebook seriously when it comes to your friends liking your photos. lol I uploaded a photo last and the picture received so much positive feedback that I decided to use it as my main photo in my profile and I got no views or messages lol

So then I go back to the picture that received no comments or likes on Facebook and that picture has gotten me 3 messages and 3 numbers in one day. So I guess my friends on Facebook was lying was lying about picture lol

I 'like' pictures that are good for that person, not necessarily good compared to the general population.

Why would you expect this to work? People don't like facebook photos because they think you look hot.

Facebook is just absurd these days honestly there is prob pics I would like if I could be assed to click the button but I know its ok cause there will be more who will its not personal its just a over saturation of info and pics not to mention the Drama lamas that seam to run rampant on there..im kind of hoping it will implode on itself in some way at some point..

I "like" nearly almost everything my friends post just out of respect and to acknowledge what they shared, cuz im a good friend.

Friends are one thing strangers are another.

maybe it's time to try hot or not.....

I think a close friend would be one you might want to ask which photo shows you best.. as far as FB.. yeah.. going by likes isn't going to work...

your friends aren't trying to get sexually interested in you where as people on a dating site are.

A picture of a guy at disneyland will get likes on facebook because more friends who have children or those who have a long established relationship with him will be able to relate, hence the likes, but that's not the dynamic on a dating site.

I liked this topic. Sorry, couldn't help myself :)

Yes, if you have eyes it's pretty easy to tell what's a good photo and what's not. In focus, good quality, good lighting, good colours, a nice smile. It's not rocket science.

A friend liking your picture could be for lots of reasons. They are not trying to date you so the things which are appealing to them are not going to be the same as someone who is looking to date you.

When I like my friends' FB pictures I don't ever think of whether or not it would be a good dating profile pic for them and I'm not liking it because I'm attracted to them.

I know the men wasn't liking it for that reason but I did think that's why the women was liking it lol

I think that's a common mistake in men's perceptions. There are some interesting survey-type studies out there, as well, that show that

1. Men are waaaaay more likely to think their female friends find them sexually attractive.

2. More often than not those men are wrong.

3. Women are waaaay more likely to think their male friends are NOT at all sexually attracted to them.

4. More often than not those women are wrong.

Lol.

The studies suggest (huge shocker, hope no serious tax money was ever used for any of these), that straight men are more likely to have sexual thoughts about opposite-sex friends than straight women are.

Of course this doesn't mean that none of your female friends would think you are a good-lookin guy. It's just that it probably doesn't even occur to them to form a conscious opinion about it. So if you want to use a close female friend's opinion, make sure you actually ask and spell it out, heh.

That picture that got a lot of likes and no responses on dating sites is staying on facebook
