So I work in an office of 10-15 people and everyone is pretty close knit and even somewhat cliquey. Most have been there a while. There is this one guy is fairly reserved. He would talk to me on occasion, but lately I try to initiate small talk occasionally and he either gives one word answers or ignores what I say. Maybe it's me, but he still seems to talk to everyone else normally. Not sure what his deal is. Thoughts?

I think he's uncomfortable with so much small talk and you should stop talking small talk to him. Just nod and smile and say hi instead.

I will definitely do that. It just seems weird since he seems to carry on conversation with almost everyone else. I guess I'm just wondering if it's something I said.

Thanks. I just hate feeling left out sometimes like I don't fit in.

People have and can have many reasons beyond your guess. Just try to be your normal self.
