Background: Im the type of guy who people would expect to settle down at a relatively early age. I met a girl who I thought I could be with for life.......:

So I dated this girl for about a year and a half. (8 months broken up) I'm not over it which is why I'm writing. Our relationship was the one my friends had almost looked up to and try to emulate. It wasnt, she cheated on me once (that I knew about) and I could feel her wanting to pull away. Anyway, it ended in an awful way, on April fools day, which had to signify some dark twisted way to put me in misery. After that we really didnt talk for about 3 months. Then at the end of summer we started talking again and everything came crashing in. I was in a fraternity and there was another guy who tried to get with her while I was still dating her. August comes around and were hanging out for a few weeks and I find shes basiclally dating this guy. Supposed to be "brothers", supposed to do the exact opposite of this. Obviously, I was heart broken again. She lied, cheated, broke my heart a few times yet I cant seem to get over it. She's clearly not right for me, so why am I hanging on to this for so long. I can't bring myself to be "ok" with the fact she's with [brother]. Any advice?

Doesn't matter what people expect, you settle down when you find the right girl and when you are both ready. Don't settle for anything less than you deserve.

This girl clearly is not the right girl so don't waste time on someone who isn't the real deal. I know your emotions are up and down but when you are in a calm mood, look at things objectively as if you're looking at your relationship as a third person. Look at all the horrible things she did, the way she behaved, what would you say if that guy was your friend?

Someone who lies and cheats isn't worthy of your love, not even worth your tears. Be glad that she has shown her true colours so that you didn't waste your life with her. Dodged a bullet right there! You know yourself she is no good for you, she's just some disease you need to cure yourself of.

This might sound obvious but you can only move on when you truly want to move on. People who don't want to let go or secretly want them to come back, stay in the same spot and prolong their own suffering. Yes there were good and bad time but think about why it didn't work and why it still wouldn't work and stop wasting your time.. x

She hurt you. He hurt you.

Don't hurt yourself by thinking about what two people who don't care about you did.

Care about yourself by not caring about them.

There are quite a lot of men who always want what one of their brothers is having. They only feel a men of they take it from them. In honesty I have never understood that. Girls who fall for such behaviour are not any better, they feel like a price, but do not see that it is not about them. Sad behaviour. Even more sad is the fact that also woman do this. We have to try to avoid such people (such people include your ex).

Look at it this way.... she's your brother's problem now and it's only a matter of months before your bro is posting on loveshack wondering what the hell just hit him. Leave the skank and don't think twice.
