DBryYES Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 I have had some crappy experiences on online dating and after a month hiatus, I am back at it. In the first day, I have been going back and forth with a really cool chick. How do I go about courting her? I have had some really crappy experiences dating so I am not confident about how to go about dating and knowing when to ask someone on a date?
JChristie Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 i admit, online dating is not my favorite thing. however, i have heard of bunches of people meeting their husband/wife online. in general when communicating with online person, BE YOURSELF. you can be your best self, but be yourself. and don't waste too much time with online communication. set up a coffee or lunch date soon so that you can not waste time on someone who has misled you. find out some of their favorite things. ask them if they speak any languages. what are your interests? ask them about something you like, without admiting you like it. then you will get an honest response. or you can use reverse psychology and mention something you love but say, i think XXX is really dumb. what do you think? we are all on our best behavior when on a date. sometimes you have to dig around a little to see what their dark side looks like. choose controversial topics, like politics or religion to see if you are dealing with an extremist of some kind. Global warming true or false? these questions can give you a quick insight into any new person. hope this helps jc
TabbyHearts Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 and don't waste too much time with online communication. set up a coffee or lunch date soon so that you can not waste time on someone who has misled you. This is key. Meeting up quickly enough, preferably within the first week or two of speaking, will help you to not get overly emotionally involved and even if you stupidly still do (like me!) it's over and you can move on quicker if it wasn't a match. If all is going well after a couple days talking online, ask for her number and then move to text or calls...after a few days of that going well, set a casual date. If she's in any way not serious or a flake, she will have dropped off by then.
