Hi all,

So me and my girlfriend are taking a break for the past month, and we been in a relationship for six months. The break was her idea. she felt she needed time to do her own thing. before that we saw each other about three times a week, spend most of weekends together. After the break it came to dramatic halt of no contact at all. about two weeks in I txted her to get coffee to see where things stand like we agreed before taking this break and she made excuse of being too busy, will be more free in January. I just told her to contact me whenever she is ready to talk and I didn't contact her after that and neither did she. I personally don't believe in break and this is the first time I am on a break. It is strange to just cut off a person who was a large part of your live. I am using this time to invest in myself and doing my own thing too, but I don't like having this hanging on the back of my mind. How long should a break even last? is it normal there's no contact at all during a break? my gut tells me she should contact me and I shouldn't contact her before then and if she doesn't does then I think this relationship is over if it isn't already. any advise or perspective will be appreciated.

There is no such thing as a break so soon in a healthy relationship. I'd consider myself single.

This. The fact that she needed a break at just six months indicates it's not working. Big red flag. I would not consider yourself her boyfriend anymore. You're not Plan B.

She called the break, not only that, she then went into NC.

She even batted off your attempt to see her for coffee.

She, I am sorry to tell you, is finished with this relationship.
