mortensorchid Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 Happy New Year to one and all on the forum! I hope this year brings forth many hilarious stories and challenges before us all. Not me anymore, I give up completely and will never attempt anything again with anyone else. I just turned 40, I have accepted this after being on the knife edge for a long time, I'm done. But others should not, keep on moving forward. 4
Gloria25 Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 I feel your frustration... Hopefully maybe taking a step back and with time you can get back on the saddle again... Yeah, it's a jungle out there...
Dallers Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 We are all done when there is no one on our radar. But cupid has a way of always making sure someone else is just around the corner. Fight it all you like. Joy, pain and tears to come 40, 50, 60 it matters not. Happy New Year 3

After a few rocky years at the crossroads between frustration and self-doubt, turning 40 has so far taught me that: -other people's b*******t will from now on stay just that (with the exception of the little people in my life, until they know better); -no matter what goes around you, you still are the only master of your own destiny; -kindness is to be given freely and accepted gratefully; -family and old friends are where true love lies; -giving up is a luxury one cannot afford. Happy New Year mortensorchid
Author mortensorchid Posted January 3, 2015 Author Posted January 3, 2015 I am not depressed about turning 40, LittleBlackHeart. It feels wonderful to have made it this far in life. I just realize certain things about myself, that much nonsense is behind me, and I feel good about me. What the rest of the world is feeling, I can't say, but I feel great about me. As for the love life, it's done and I am ok with that. There is more to life than that and I will find joy in other things. 1
shmisk Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 Hi OP - I am 42 and 6 months ago a 7 and a half year relationship broke up initially I thought 'thats it for me' now I am in a stupidly complicated FWB situation, I have learned how good my friends are, and actually I am not ready to give up sex at my age. Never rule anything out
