welshbambi Posted December 25, 2014 Posted December 25, 2014 So generally I have taken to having the radio off (bad, too much silence to think) or listening to Classical music stations because they are neutral. The reason for this is that there seem to be a myriad of songs at the moment whose lyrics are just soul destroying! And worse still, all commercial stations just seem to play these songs at least once an hour so you never get away from them. So it got me to thinking - what songs would all of YOU ban because they give needless reminders of an ex? Mine would be: - Evergreen by Ed Sheeran - All of Me Loves All of You by John Legend - Wherever You Will Go by The Calling - Stay by Sam Smith (possibly only UK only) - ANY Christmas songs about love (thankfully we only have a few days to go of those) As an aside, if you need a good cry, there is a song by Damien Rice called the Greatest Bastard. I listen to it and imagine that my ex has written it about me. It kills but it also helps. Proceed with caution though! So, add to this list!
DenverDude Posted December 25, 2014 Posted December 25, 2014 My list would be: 1. Falling slowly - the swell season 2. Canon in D - classical 3. Into the Wild soundtrack - Ed Vedder I could list more but these hold a special place in my heart because each of these songs has a story with her and I. 1
Chin Up Posted December 25, 2014 Posted December 25, 2014 Pretty well any love song used to set me off, and you don't realize how many songs are about love until you're on the pointy end of the stick of it lol. Had to stop listening to the radio for a while, but I'm alright now. Maybe 2 weeks ago I heard "Last Christmas" by WHAM and I started bawling like a big baby. Caught me by surprise. Especially since it's so damn sappy lol. I'm over it, and now that I've thought of it I'm gonna be humming it all day lol great. 1

Chin Up Posted December 25, 2014 Posted December 25, 2014 No worries! Sappy songs don't bother me anymore, it's just getting a song stuck in my head that sucks. I'm bad for that lol always have some kind of song whirling around in the back of my head.
ralfgarnett Posted December 26, 2014 Posted December 26, 2014 If you were here tonight by Alexander O'Neal a very special song that reminds me of our wedding, I played it once after she left and I sobbed for hours just thinking about it puts a lump in my throat so enough said, I agree about listening to classical I do it all the time or Radio 4 or Radio 4 extra as they are none emotional and concentrate on current affairs, chat, history and comedy but nothing to do with heart breaks.
