I got in an argument with my dad today about me moving to a bigger city. I'm getting married soon and he believes being in a bigger city causes women to cheat more. I'm of the belief that if a person wants to cheat they will do it no matter the location. He got mad because I'm to the point I don't care. If a person cheats on me then they were never meant to be with me. What do you think?

I think it will be better to know / have some assurance that the person you are with does not have a history of cheating / wondering eyes before you tie the knot.

As to your dad's point about big city.....there is no fact to back that up. I hear about people in the boonies banging each other all the time, hence the phrase... being the village bicycle

it's like sending your man to a job in an office full of women, or vice-versa. it opens up significantly more opportunities when there are more people of the opposite sex around, but it's the person that determines what they will ultimately do, not the location.

Location doesn't MAKE people cheat. It may allow those with the tendency more options (although not necessarily) but if someone isn't of the mind to do so then moving to a city won't all of a sudden possess them into it. Plus people in small towns cheat too, no location is immune to it.

The only time a location can affect a relationship is whether or not the people around you is generally positive or negative. That can affect a person's overall attitude and, in turn, affects the relationship.

I daresay it is very difficult to stay positive when you are surrounded by constantly negative people and vice versa.

As for cheating, no it doesn't. If he/she wants to cheat, they will. Being in a big city or a small city makes no difference in that regard.
