The car doesn`t make the guy, the guy makes the car. Don`t ever let the car define you

BTW, I can pick up girls on a bicycle.

The only true thing my car says about me is i like an adrenalin rush (only when im driving by myself) otherwise my car doesn't define me in the slightest :p

Plot twist: guy shows up on a motorcycle and with an extra helmet and jacket. Do you get on or decline?

Lol, funny story actually, i was suppose to take a chick out for dinner on her birthday (good friend of mine) i arrived on my bike, she refused, didn't talk to me for days. After that - i think taking the car is a safer bet :p

I had my share of different types of cars, to include the heavily modified imports, but I don't think a girl ever cared. To be honest, the little sports car was the least comfortable car I had and looking back, I think the girls I dated hated it, to include my SO...

Luckily I had my grocery hauler too which I drove when meeting up with them...

The car itself is inconsequential, though my douche radar spikes a little if it's heavily modified or super fancy.

I do take notice of the interior. It's not a deal breaker, but if there's trash all over or it smells weird, that's unappealing, as I feel it's a reflection of the person driving (I also feel this way about friends' cars, btw).

I'm most interested, however, in how the guy drives. Is he callous, fast, dangerous? Does he lay on the horn? Cut people off? These things matter.

Yup, ditto.

You mean there are no other drivers on the road when you seek your adrenaline rush?

So i guess i have always been semi curious as to what a chick thinks about a guy who drives a certain car

Scenario - Its a first date, you arrive on time to pick her up at her house - she steps out the door to see what you drive (or reversed roles)

what goes through the persons head when they see your car.

I drive a very powerful toyota supra. My pride and joy and i make sure its always in top condition. It drops panties on every street ;) (well i like to think it does haha)

But my mate drives an old banged up 90's toyota hiace. Rubbish in the back, faded paint and rust all over.

Does what some one drives even play apart in an impression of what someone may think of you

Mate...it bloody well doesn't! It what comes out of your mouth on the date, and your decorum that goes a long way in the end.

Toyota supra isn't exactly a fancy car in the grand scheme of things, and will only "drop panties" of teenage school sheilas..like the ones in neighbours or home and away

It all depends on the girl you are picking up. As you can see, everyone has different opinions on this. Call me shallow, but I would be turned off by a guy who shows up with a dumpy, messy car.

If someone isn't driving a better than a "dumpy car", it will be hypocritical of them to expect the date to drive a better car. That is like driving a KIA and expecting your date to show up in a mercedes

I haven't read any of the replies to this thread so don't know if it has been comvered yet.

But to answer your question, to shallow and superficial people it probably does. But really, do you want to date someone who likes you for who you are and not what you drive or would you rather date someone is shallow and cares more about your possessions than you?

Its either at the track, or a mountain a gps wont even take you to, the only people there are "boy racers" with a spotter well ahead of the pack. Probably irresponsible on my part - but no one is made of money

I think guys in general care about cars much more than women and then project their appreciation of cars to women.

If the car is decent and clean, I just see it as "look, it's a car". If the guy has made some extra effort to tune the car then I would notice but I don't really care that much. If someone drives a flashy car that they actually can't afford then it is rather a turn-off to prioritize a car over more important things. If you're into cars, can afford an expensive one and it makes you happy and more confident with women, by all means go ahead and enjoy your car. But it's not that important.

Take ladies handbags - the price range is huge and some are considered "cult" labels but do you really notice if the girl is carrying a Birkin or something from an average store? Probably not because you don't care as much and don't even notice the subtle differences.

That is actually a really good point, thank you for that insight :)
