makeithappen Posted December 20, 2014 Posted December 20, 2014 Hello, After a series of social gatherings at work, I discovered that none of my female colleagues (who call themselves my friends!) actually care much for me! I feel negative vibes when I am around them (I cannot explain it, but I sense that I do not occupy a big place in their heart, despite the smiles!) I have so much anger and resentment that I do not want to socialise with them, or even give them a smile and engage in small talk with them. The hate is too much, let's say. However, I do not want to be in trouble at work. How can I avoid being seen as the one who wants to start a conflict at work? I simply do not like these people and even seeing them is too much!
jellybean89 Posted December 25, 2014 Posted December 25, 2014 Think of work as just that - work; not a social gathering. If they ask you to join in after work activities, politely decline stating you have other plans. Remain professional and civil at work; but you are under no obligation to hang out after work with them. 1
