Danda Posted December 19, 2014 Posted December 19, 2014 Different people have different senses of humor, so I'm not sure if anything at all can really constitute a "funny person" in general. Some of the things I find funny other people find depraved. But having a matching sense of humor and being able to make each other laugh is a huge plus for most, I think. 5
mysteryscape Posted December 19, 2014 Posted December 19, 2014 I'm not female -- but I can assure you, women love guys who can make them laugh.
Gloria25 Posted December 19, 2014 Posted December 19, 2014 I'm a dry and sarcastic person... I'd prefer someone who can be snarky and sarcastic like me. I was thinking of Ryan Reynolds characters and they all seem to have a "smart mouth". I'd have to punch him in the face or put a gag in his mouth and bag over his head if I were to have sex with him. I mean, he is hot, but that mouth would have to be shut up and a bag put over his head. I also don't like guys with a "smart mouth". Now I like comedy shows. Like tonite, I'll probably watch some at midnight. I love comedy at midnight. I just don't like funny people in daily life. In the times I've dealt with "funny" people, I just look at them and think "boy, you are stupid, aren't you?"
todreaminblue Posted December 19, 2014 Posted December 19, 2014 guys who make you laugh .....often can make you laugh when laughing is the last thing on your mind.......liek when pms is the first thing on your mind...if a guy can make you laugh while you have pms and or anxiety and stressed out...that guy is a keeper.....everyone wants to see the funny side of life...when funny is not what they feel...if a guy can make me smile or laugh.....when i am upset or feeling overwhelmed in life.........thats the guy for me........deb
mrs rubble Posted December 20, 2014 Posted December 20, 2014 A sense of humour is an absolute essential quaility for me.
me85 Posted December 20, 2014 Posted December 20, 2014 Yes! Absolutely! All the guys I've ever been attracted to, I was primarily attracted to because they were exceptionally funny...and it has always been the intelligent sense of humor that I've been drawn to. I believe in goofiness too, don't get me wrong but the majority of the guys I've been drawn to were wisely funny. I'm funny and sarcastic and want my partner to be as well.
GravityMan Posted December 20, 2014 Posted December 20, 2014 I think most women and men like being around humorous people...whether it's for dating, friends, coworkers, colleagues. Laughing is enjoyable and uplifting after all. People who are serious all the time are usually considered to be boring. Keep in mind that you don't need to be a comedian. That might even work against you. Don't crack jokes all the time. Be situationally aware. Just let your sense and particular style of humor come through naturally. It should be effortless. "Trying" to be funny usually doesn't work. Sooner or later you'll meet someone with a compatible sense of humor. If you are witty, then you're probably in good shape in the humor department, regardless of style. Especially if you can also read others well. Witty people are usually quite intelligent and creative. 1
Phoe Posted December 20, 2014 Posted December 20, 2014 If so share why ladies. Yes. Funny guys make me laugh. Laughing makes me happy. Therefore funny guys make me happy. 2
mysteryscape Posted December 20, 2014 Posted December 20, 2014 How do women feel about quantum gravity?
Scaatys2014 Posted December 20, 2014 Posted December 20, 2014 Absolutely a great sense of humor is so important! The last guy I dated was hilarious. We would banter back and forth all night and I always looked forward to spending time with him because of how much he made me laugh.
haribogumsnickers Posted December 20, 2014 Posted December 20, 2014 If all funny guys looked like ryan reynolds then I'd lick them too. I mean like.
Gloria25 Posted December 20, 2014 Posted December 20, 2014 If all funny guys looked like ryan reynolds then I'd lick them too. I mean like. But a bag over his head and gag in his mouth, right? I mean, did you see the X-men where towards the end they like sealed up his mouth?
haribogumsnickers Posted December 20, 2014 Posted December 20, 2014 But a bag over his head and gag in his mouth, right? I mean, did you see the X-men where towards the end they like sealed up his mouth? No bag nor gag. His snarky mouth is too sexy to silence.
Gloria25 Posted December 20, 2014 Posted December 20, 2014 No bag nor gag. His snarky mouth is too sexy to silence. Oh yeah, he's attractive and all, but at some point he's gonna open his mouth and say something "smart" Gosh, I just looked him up...dude is Canadian. Great, along with Ryan Gosling, another product of Canada that I find attractive, yet want to punch in the face.

Do you box bc you mentioned face punching a few times. That would be so hot if you did and I'd let you punch me all day.

I mean, I don't mean "literally" punching them (or anyone), but the visual does put a smile on my face. Maybe like giving them a middle finger will suffice. Or better yet, taking my finger and pushing off by pointing my finger in their forehead. Or, better even just putting my hand in the face like "talk to the hand"...that'll shut them up.

Punching bag for you on Xmas. Boxing is sweet cardio and great for steam release. I like your whole middle fingering talk to the hand facials? thing thing. It's very boss and I find that to be a very attractive quality. Gloria, do me the honor and pm me or I'll idk wth I'm asking. You got it.
guest569 Posted December 20, 2014 Posted December 20, 2014 I like a man with a similar sense of humour to me. 1
USMCHokie Posted December 21, 2014 Posted December 21, 2014 Absolutely. I'm a strong believer that one's sense of humor is a strong reflection of his intelligence. 3
aggie382 Posted December 21, 2014 Posted December 21, 2014 Why wouldn't anyone like a person who can make them laugh? Asking why a woman would like a funny guy is like asking a woman why she'd like a man who she found attractive or treated her well. Doesn't it go without saying?
USMCHokie Posted December 21, 2014 Posted December 21, 2014 Doesn't it go without saying? It does. But these types of "no brainer" questions are often asked by the people who lack the very quality they are asking about. No different from a girl asking whether guys like big boobs, or a guy asking about penises. You have a girl with small boobs and a guy with a small penis. So for the OP, I can confidently infer that people probably don't find you very funny. It's something you can certainly work on. Read more books. 3
carhill Posted December 21, 2014 Posted December 21, 2014 Do women like funny guys?IME, quite so. Liking a man is quite different from finding him attractive, if you mean 'like' in a sexual or romantic way. Think of it this way....If you're attractive, being funny can be a bonus. I've also found, personally, that when a woman finds one attractive, their feelings of attraction enhance the perception of the man's humor. If you're unattractive, relative to any particular woman, you can be the Robin Williams of humor and still receive a steely-eyed stare of derision. If you're neuter (neither unattractive nor attractive), the humor is generally enjoyed but any like is in the realm of sister or friend; that's fine if the guy enjoys such relations. Why is pretty self-explanatory. People like feeling positive and happy and laughing and enjoying humor releases 'feel-good' brain chemicals which we, well, like. 1
D.Mc. Posted December 21, 2014 Posted December 21, 2014 If I'm laughing openly & genuinely with you it means we do have the same sense of humor, outlook etc. You "get me" just like my girlfriends do & we are on the same page: sighhhh....I don't want to date my girlfriends. Thus: I like you but do not feel attracted sexually. Unfortunately if I am just smiling & "politely" laughing (you know the polite laugh women give) it means that I think you are incredibly attractive & all I can think about is not doing or saying anything that would turn you off the possibility of having sex with me. I can't ever think of you as a friend, so eventually even if we do get together there is no chance of a RS lasting since we are not on the same page. I have never once met a guy who could make me laugh wholeheartedly outside the bedroom & make me want to get him into the bedroom.
