Has a taste in music ever mattered to you when dating someone?

It's good to share interests but don't think ultimately an indicator of whether a relationship will work long-term. Shared values about stuff like family, commitment, loyalty and sex are where it works or doesn't work. I've seen some really unlikely people form great, long-lasting relationships ... when you look from the outside you wonder what they've got in common, and the fact is they don't in terms of interests but do in their approach to life and what really matters, to them. Sometimes people are really different on the surface and it actually helps ... quiet people who hook up with someone much more extrovert etc.

Exactly!! Once you have your core values in alignment anything is possible.

 

The rest of it is just white noise.

YESSSSS!!! Very much so!!! I have never dated anyone with different music tastes than mine nor will I ever date someone with different music taste than me. All my previous boyfriends love music same as me.

 

I have wonderful taste in music and love many different genres.
