I've used okcupid on and off, not too bad. But never had any luck with it, and it's the same guys that have been on there for awhile.

I use Match.

I cannot comprehend in my wildest dreams how any average female could not have a field day on it.

But then, that's coming from my perspective.

I would imagine when picking FROM THE MEN THEY ARE PHYSICALLY ATTRACTED TO, then women may have to deal with some BS. Flaking, just wanting sex, and idiocy. And that will not change from site to site, or in the real world, because more handsome guys have options so they can screw around with women. So, I can't imagine one dating site will be better than the next.

If you're willing to give a chance to guys who are not your type, then there will be a bevy of options on Match for two people to try to earnestly get to know each other.

You know, same old spiel. Lol. :lmao:

Everybody will have a different opinion about what they think is good. You have to pick one that best suits you.

If there are ones that really address you as a person & your beliefs, like Christian Mingle or black people meet or Our Time for people over 50, they will be a better match for you.

I didn't much care for OLD but I did feel that I got what I paid for with e-harmony. I liked the closed system & that it took a while to fill out that questionnaire. Coupled with the expense imo it weeded out people who weren't serious.

I did not meet the love of my life on it. ironically while I was on e-harmony my now husband was on Match & we were both outside of each other's parameters.

I've used that, and also Plenty of Fish. Some of the same faces are on both, but for my area there seems to be more people on Plenty of Fish.

Is plenty of fish more of a hook up site? Are there quality people on there?

No.

Look for a paid site catering to your special interests. Fitness, animals, farmers, etc. Some publications have their own dating websites. Just google for ideas.

You can always check Facebook for friends of friends and expand your circle. I noticed a guy who was commenting on a lot of the same things I was, mainly music related. I friended him, it took three months to meet him, and another eleven months to marry him.

Look for a paid site

Personally I would never use a paid site, and the reason was summed up nicely in a link given recently in another thread:

Why You Should Never Pay For Online Dating « OkTrends

The first part is the reason. The rest of the article starts to get a bit paranoid and conspiracy theory stuff and conjecture, and fails to take numerous pertinent facts into account. But the basic fact that over 90% of people you message on a paid site can't message you back is the real issue. 10% reply rate is the absolute best you can expect on a paid site. I can get better than 10% reply rate on a free one. So why would I pay, for worse results?

If you're not having "luck" on an OLD site then rather than change sites, you need to change your profile, photos and approach. Tip: luck has nothing to do with it...

I am on a paid site.

For personal reasons I wanted to go on a site that was a bit more "obscure".

To date I have sent around 12 messages.

I had 1 automated response back.

I have had 1 person message me.

After conversation he turned out to be completely unsuitable.

I have noticed that only the first 2 pages seem to be "active" in 10 years age range.

I looked in my mail box. A load of the messages have not been read...

I think you have a point there Pete...

4 years ago I joined match and a month later met the girl who became my girlfriend. We broke up about year and a half ago.

About 6 months ago I met my current girlfriend on tinder and it continues to be an amazing relationship.

Your mileage may vary.

I don't really think that any of them are "more of a hook up site". Not even Tinder. Use them however you want, whether it's looking for sex or a spouse or anywhere in between.

Doesn't matter who is a subscriber. If they want to contact you they will subscribe to do it.
