Stanthemanwittheplan Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 When some one says they are reluctant about being in a relationship but doesn't want to date anyone else but me. What should I take from that? I just got out of a LTR and started seeing this amazing women who has done a lot more casual dating than I have. All I've known is LTR and I think it's a factor in my inability to understand casual dating and sex. We go on dates two or three times a week, we talk on a daily basis and laugh and have fun. We communicate how much we've come to like each other. Not to mention it's usually her who initiates conversation at the beginning of the day. She talk in advance about things we need to do in the future and goes as far as making plans for them. I guess the question is does this women not want to label whats going on or is she just casually dating me. To me it doesn't sound or feel casual.
Storybook Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 It's casual until you both come to a verbal agreement that you want things to mean more. In my experience, the way women talk about the future isn't any real indicator of anything. A girl could tell you her wedding dreams one day and then dump you at the drop of a hat the next. 1

Storybook Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 So I guess the fact of her saying she didn't want to date anyone but me is irrelevant in the situation? No, that sounds promising. You just want to assure one another that you two are in an exclusive, committed relationship.

Forgive me for my lack of knowledge but are dating exclusively and being In a committed relationship the same thing? I figured by her saying she wanted only to date me that would be an indicator of exclusiveness . The committed relationship in my mind is where you acknowledge BF/GF status meet each others family, discuss life decisions together so on and so on.

Well, hopefully you can get some insight from others as to what exclusivity means to them, but ultimately a conversation should take place between you and her to see what it means to her.
