Here's a list of women that I consider to be off limits:

1. Married women or women who have a boyfriend.

2. Women in the same workplace as me.

3. Women who used to be in relationships with friends of mine.

4. Women whose parents do not like me for whatever reason.

5. Women who have kids of their own that are still under 20 years of age.

Number 3 is something I want to expound on a little bit. I think if I truly value the friendships I have with the guys then dating a woman that used to go out with them spells trouble. I am putting the friendship on the line and that friend will lose respect for me or may even cut off the friendship completely. It is usually not a good idea to date or sleep with women whom my friends used to date or sleep with. If it doesn't work out then I would have lost both my girlfriend and my friend. It is an awkward situation even if my friend introduced me to her and encouraged me to go for it and ask her out. Chances are deep down he would have a problem with it.

In my early 20s when I was immature I broke rule number one and had a short term affair with a married Christian woman who was twice my age. I was 20 and she was 43. Obviously she's old enough to be my Mom. This may come as a shock to many but when we weren't fooling around sexually we spent most of the time doing Bible studies together. Even 2 devout Christians get tempted to have affairs.

Now I am lucky that I didn't get killed in the process. It was a very high risk move and her husband could have found out and killed all 3 of us in a murder/suicide. So ever since then I have matured and that's why now I'm such a huge stickler for cutting contact with a woman I attracted to once I learn that she is married or has a boyfriend.

Totally agreed

I take notice of it, but it was on a case by case basis.

It's imperative that if you date someone, they are strong enough to stand against their parents.

If not ... you are doomed to fail in your relationship as you end up not marrying just that person, but also his/her family.

5. Women who have kids of their own that are still under 20 years of age.

It depends on location and society.

For me this rule would becomes [i never dated one though] 'has kids, proceed with care'.

Women who are younger than 40 are also off limits for me. I prefer older women. I am 34.

Women who live locally are off limits.

All the rest of your restrictions make sense, except for this one. Long distance relationships are a pain in the neck and are often manic, hyper elation when you get together then tears when you separate, punctuated by stretches which may be filled with worry because you cant be present with the people you are around while constantly checking your phone.

Personally 2 & 3 are the only restrictions i have, but to each their own.
