Why do guys have such a hard time saying I love you when other people are around ? especially on the phone?

Posted

I always wondered this too.. if it's because they think thier boys are going to give them a hard time or what?

My BF has told me he Loves me.. but he won't say it often.

It is his opinion that what he DOES not what he says is what counts..

cause ANY show of emotion- other than anger and the like- is seen as a weakness by many men, even subconsciencely. this includes smiling, crying, excitement, sorrow, grief, love.

and on the phone, i think it cause they are not 100% sure that they may be speaking with JUST you, or some other lack of confidentiallty factor.

No idea. I'm definitely spoiled with my husband. He tells me he loves me non-stop, any place, any time and will even talk baby talk with me in public. We're attached at the hip. :p

cause then we are going to like like we are completely whipped and we don't want to look like that besides if your in the middle of a basketball game and she calls first off your getting harsh comments from the guys for picking up and then if you say the "i love you" that will do you in then they start with the "does she dress you in the morning" stuff

so to avoid all of that we just do the me too, or right back at you.

we still love you and will tell you later on just you know........

I don't have a problem with it.

Oh yes, we will indeed give them a hard time. I did this to my own brother just the other day.

It didn't bother me though. "Yeah, bite me" usually ended the ribbing until the next time.
