I've been asking mine for dating advice and he always gives good advice. Yes, I agree. I have a very close guy friend with whom I've shared things and he does the same with me in terms of dating. We have helped each other a number of times to see things clearly or from the other perspective. One time, I was having trouble reading a guy and my friend came by while we were at our favorite bar (making it appear to be a coincidence and talked to him/us for a while. My friend later told me to run for the hills!

Danda Posted December 12, 2014 Posted December 12, 2014 I think it depends on the guy friend. My only male friend, I told him I might try dating again and asked him if he's tried dating at all lately. He said, "No **** that **** I play WoW," and I was like, "Yeah that does sound better."
Redhead14 Posted December 12, 2014 Posted December 12, 2014 Was your friend right? Yes, I was concerned that while this guy was telling me that he wanted to become exclusive with me, he acted kind of shady, available at odd times saying it was work related, etc. He was telling me something he thought I wanted to hear in order to sleep with me. I never did. My buddy, could tell that the guy was full of it by asking a couple of questions while I was in the ladies room, guy to guy kinda things. My buddy also observed that the guy was ogling every woman in the place. He never did that when I was around. My buddy made comments too about the women and the guy said he'd try to get their number next time he was there.
evanescentworld Posted December 12, 2014 Posted December 12, 2014 My best guy friend is gay. He gives amazing advice and his dress-sense is phenomenal!

It's gotta be someone you've known for a long time and whose opinions/advice matter. He's a very successful dater like me but once in while you get one that's a little off.
TheyCallMeOx Posted December 12, 2014 Posted December 12, 2014 I think everyone needs male friends, regardless of gender. Males are awesome, and we tend to give advice that is not only honest, but makes logical sense.
Author Georgia2014 Posted December 12, 2014 Author Posted December 12, 2014 I've known this guy a few years. He's got mad at me in the past and I've gotten mad at him. He will help with dating advice and listen to me complain if I'm upset.
somedude81 Posted December 12, 2014 Posted December 12, 2014 Nothing wrong with guy friends. Just be sure that he doesn't want to date and or sleep with you. Most guy friends who are single (and some who are taken) would jump at the chance to do the above with a lady friend. 1
