Linlin Posted March 22, 2005 Posted March 22, 2005 Seriously, What is with guys not wearing their wedding rings? Are they not wearing them because they want to cheat? What's the deal? Next time I get married, I am going to do a Pam and Tommy and have it tattooed on the finger.
Merin Posted March 22, 2005 Posted March 22, 2005 Originally posted by Linlin Next time I get married, I am going to do a Pam and Tommy and have it tattooed on the finger. Pam changed the Tommy to Mommy My EXBF had a ring tattooed on his finger.. didn't stop him from being a ****er I think some guy's don't wear wedding rings if they do something where they work with thier hands.. My BF now is a mechanic and when he had been married he didn't wear one for safety reasons. The Doc I work for doesn't wear one (again works with his hands) My Dad never wore one because of his occupation in mining. Then of course there are just the guys who are ****ers and don't want other women to know they are married.
Pocky Posted March 22, 2005 Posted March 22, 2005 No idea. My husband wears his ring. He's even got an indentation in his finger. I told him even if he took the ring off he's forever marked. One look at that finger and any other woman would know he's claimed territory.
laRubiaBonita Posted March 22, 2005 Posted March 22, 2005 my father did not ever wear a wedding ring, cause he had lost weight a few years after they wed and his ring did not fit. My mother finally resized it for him like 8 yrs ago. they have been married 34 yrs.
crazychick Posted March 22, 2005 Posted March 22, 2005 I work with this guy that is married and I have only seen his wedding ring on once in the last 3 and a half years. We work in an office so its not like he is working with his hands, unless you consider typing. What's up with that? Why doesn't his wife say something to him?
Author Linlin Posted March 22, 2005 Author Posted March 22, 2005 I am not talking about people who work with their hands. That I get. And usually they will say that they are married. I am talking about the dogs that I meet that just want a little something. Then they tell you they are married. Who the heck do they think they are?

Was just responding as to why SOME guys don't wear rings but yeah.. some guys don't wear them because as I said they're ****ers. I have a practice of always asking a guy who is flirting with me even if he isn't wearing a ring "Are you married?" I have of course ran across those ****ers who say they're not when they really are..
EC Posted March 22, 2005 Posted March 22, 2005 I am talking about the dogs that I meet that just want a little something. Then they tell you they are married. Who the heck do they think they are? Riiight??? Some creepo (cop) came up to my mother the other day...great guy she was so excited...no ring...then he e-mails her the next day saying it was great to meet her and that he wanted to see here again but he had to be up front and say he was married. The creep has been married for two years and just had a baby!!! WTF??? As for rings..I think I might just have to get the tattoo thing lol because Im allergic to jewelry and I can only wear rings for like two days before breaking out. I can hear it now Husband: Well why do I have to wear mine if you dont have to wear yours??? lmao

My hands swell when I have to type a lot. But it has to be ALOT. I take my rings off after work, and leave them off all weekend while I'm at home. I've had too many close calls getting my hand pulled into machinery from something latching on to my rings. You can't tell I wear them at all when they're off and it doesn't bother Mrs. Moose, she knows I'm comitted to her. As far as wives insisting that their husband wear their rings, that's up to them, but if you trust your spouse, this shouldn't be a requirement.
Author Linlin Posted March 22, 2005 Author Posted March 22, 2005 Merin, I didn't mean anything by your response. I am just pissed and ranting about a guy who has been chasing me and was hanging all over me last Thursday and then I find out today that he is married. WTF This wasn't the first time either. I mean I think the whole place noticed. I can't believe that his wife won't find out about it. I also don't want any grief from her since I didn't know he was married. Another guy at work yesterday was all flirty and stuff, can I help you and touches your arm, etc. till someone yelled out about his wife.

There will always be guys out there like this.. sucks uh? Make it a habit to ask any guy who is trying to hook up with you "Are you married?" again, some guys will still lie about it, but at least you're being pro-active (so to speak) in asking straight up. When I met my BF that was one of the first things I asked him.. and I wasn't shy about letting him know that the reason I was asking was because I had been lied to before or just not told BUT Women always find out..
Hund1976 Posted March 22, 2005 Posted March 22, 2005 Well if a married guy is up to no good of course he's going to take his ring off. How much action could he get if he's wearing a ring and has a baby seat in his car?
sweetness69 Posted March 22, 2005 Posted March 22, 2005 there are women who love a man who is already taken especially married men i dont know why but they are out there.
PatientOne Posted March 22, 2005 Posted March 22, 2005 I stopped wearing my ring after almost losing the finger it was on- the second time. I ran a hydraulic press at work and it kept getting snagged. Same with watches. My wife wears my band on her thumb now. Assuming the man is up to no good is silly.
Author Linlin Posted March 22, 2005 Author Posted March 22, 2005 I am just ranting about the ones who wear no ring and say, "I separated," when really they are not. Like Merin says, ask. I have and some still lie. Why do I always seem to meet these ones? My ex-H cheated on me so I wouldn't even go there with another guy since I know how it feels.
limejoose Posted March 23, 2005 Posted March 23, 2005 If you want dudes to wear their wedding rings than buy a flesh colored one! LoL!!!! I never had a wedding ring before. Personal I dont like wearing rings because i dont like how it feels on my hand.
missopinionated Posted March 23, 2005 Posted March 23, 2005 Wearing a wedding ring -- or not -- shouldn't be a big deal. It is symbolic. Lots of people who are married but who detest their spouses wear their ring, so really, what value does it have? Why isn't he wearing it? Has he gained weight and the ring is uncomfortable? Is the style something he's grown out of (might be a really nice gesture to get him something new that he really likes)? Is it dangerous for him to wear it at work? Most importantly, how's your relationship? In the big picture, are you friends and lovers or are you strangers? Wearing or not wearing a ring won't change a good/bad marriage.
