Bumpin in My Trunk Posted December 7, 2014 Posted December 7, 2014 I think its this coming Friday. I think we've been texting for 2 weeks now, we've talked like 3 times on the phone. I'm a bit clueless on how to carry things once we get to this bakery. I don't want to come off as awkward and then she looses attraction for me and doesn't want to take things further anymore. I guess in introspect, I'm too nervous about messing things up. I'm really aiming for a second date here. I'm a noob at this because most girls I've just flirted with at school and THEN we go out somewhere and kiss/mess around. Btw, it's some girl from POF. She does seem very nice from the interaction we've had.
Author Bumpin in My Trunk Posted December 8, 2014 Author Posted December 8, 2014 You know what I love??? Whenever i see tons of threads with replies but mine is empty. So lovely

sean_89 Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 Hey man, don't be nervous, do some self-talk before you go. Praise yourself up, she agreed to go with you. Just keep the attention on her and don't get in your own head and you will be fine. FORD - Family, Occupation, Recreation, Dreams. I went on a first date with a girl recently and I was also nervous as hell but the scenario that I was going over in my head was much worse than the actual date itself. I mostly stuck to FORD and planned to keep the date relatively short but it ended up being longer. Just keep talking, hold eye contact, the rest will follow 2
CaliGypsy Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 (edited) Relax. Try not to go into the date with super high expectations. You've been talking to her for a couple of weeks so you should have built up a rapport and have some common interests to discuss. Just remember most of us are nervous on first dates. It's to be expected and totally normal. You do want her to like you though, so be yourself. Edited December 9, 2014 by CaliGypsy As usual; too good to proofread first 1
Author Bumpin in My Trunk Posted December 9, 2014 Author Posted December 9, 2014 FORD - Family, Occupation, Recreation, Dreams. I like this. You might consider writing a guide into this for first dates just like there is a guide on NC and breakups. And then it will go into the sticky section One more thing, thanks for the advice Gypsy and Sean. I am pretty nervous but I will try to calm down. I'm thinking a bowling alley is a fun and relaxed placed to get to know each other.

Just passing it along:D Like Cali said, if you go into it without high expectations and change your mindset to 'I'm just going to go spend some time with this girl that I've been talking to, try to get to know her and try to enjoy myself' it'll be much easier than worrying what she thinks every second of you. Worked out great for me, had much less anxiety than I figured I would. And definitely pick a place that you (and you think her too) will be most comfortable. I made sure I avoided coffee for this reason because for some reason that setting particularly throws me off for a first date. Have fun!
