I still feel lost and heartbroken

I'm a 16 year old boy. A couple of months ago my first girlfriend of a year broke up with me, and I felt completely heartbroken. Every time I think about the relationship, I remember how bad it actually was. She treated everyone around her great, except me. She was always mad at me for something, but I still stuck with her, because there was just something about her that I really liked, and I couldn't let her go.

I should've left her though. Like mentioned, she broke up with me a couple of months ago. She told me she really cared about me, but that she just didn't have time for me (she was a very busy person). I was heartbroken. She told me she still wanted to be friends, and that she still cared.

We were both part of the same friend group, and after the breakup, I've never been invited to anything together with this group of friends. They go to movies together, they eat together, and they hangout very often. I'm never invited. Three of my very best friends are a part of this group, and a few days ago they started joking about how they had been fighting over my ex after the breakup. They probably thought it was very funny, and I laughed a little with them, throwing joking comments back at them. Truth is I wanted to cry.

My friends keep joking about our relationship, and sometimes it sounds like they are happy for our breakup, because now they can give it a try. Now I feel like I have noone. I don't know how to tell my friends that I feel like they are being rude without sounding like a complete "crybaby" (couldn't think of a better word). My ex has completely blocked me out of her life. I've met her a few times on the bus; sometimes she waves and smiles, other times she completely ignores me. She has also completely blocked me on all types of social medias.

I know she might be trying to forget the relationship, but I honestly never felt like she loved me. She never really "expressed" her love in any way, as she was mostly very rude to me.

To sum it up, I need advice on how to talk to my friends about my ex, and I need help understanding my ex's behaviour over me.

I feel insecure over my friends, and I feel like I have noone to talk to at the moment.

If anything is unclear, don't be afraid to ask.

Thanks.

(Also, excuse my poor english. It's not my first language)

Any response would be helpful. I would like to talk to my friends about this very soon, so any quick responses would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Solid English dude.

You've got to look on the bright side. You're aware it was a bad relationship, and ultimately you're better off out of it. You're also only 16 - you've plenty of time, your best years in fact, to find someone else who will treat you properly.

These experiences only make us stronger, no matter how ****ty it might seem at the moment. Talk to your friends. They can only help.

Thank you for the reply.

How do I start such a conversation with my friends though? Do I just tell them that I don't like them talking about my ex? I feel like I should not tell them what to talk about or not. Also, should I ask them if my ex has said anything about me after the breakup, or asked about me? If she has told them anything about being interested in keeping contact with me?

Just make fun of them for fighting over your sloppy seconds and that behavior will cease quickly.

Act glad that is over until you feel that way. Become busier yourself, get involved in clubs, get a part time job etc.

You'll be alright little dude.

just ask them to give it some time since you've just broken up, although any decent friend wouldn't need telling. I'd imagine they're joking about it to try and make light of the whole situation, as it's probably a bit uncomfortable for everyone.
