I decided to catfish on Okcupid, just to see how guys respond to a hot looking girl, nothing more, I wasn't going to lead anyone guy on like meeting up, I deleted it as soon as I saw how many messages I got. And it doesn't surprised me how many guys messaged my fake profile and "loved" my profile pic. I put some things on my profile that would turn any guy off. Like, I put-that I was in my 20's, that I had 4 kids and that I'm looking for a sugar daddy, I was making minimum wage-waiting tables and that I was extremely shy. Guys didn't care about my shyness, interesting, they were willing to "meet up" and were determined to help me come out of my shell. Wow.

Sure, extremely attractive people attract people. It's always been true, for eons.

But... "turn any guy off"? No, they don't believe that a SHY girl under 30 would have 4 kids, work as a waitress or want a sugar daddy. You created a bad scenario: a high sex profile. If you really want to test whether looks are ALL that matters, put down that you have 4 kids and won't use birth control or condoms.

Seriously, SERIOUSLY! This thread, again!?Male or female, I don't care who or what you are these threads need to stop. People like attractive people. It's a known fact. You are not revealing some earth shattering new truth or making some groundbreaking discovery. Stop it. It's pathetic.

Online dating is WAY different than in person. Since even the average woman get tons of messages a day. They have infinite options right at their fingertips. Doesn't necessarily mean looks matter at least for the women. As long as you're not hideous looking you should do fine. For men it's a lot harder. It's just the way it is.

Some will sell their soul to the devil for a romp with a hottie. Browse some threads around here and you'll see.

i think dating sites really don't need profiles, just pics and ages. that's enough for most people to judge by.

Physically attractive people are going to get more messages. That is just a fact of life.

No! I definitely need a profile to read. Photos are secondary.

I thought attraction was subjective. That surely is not true

Well technically it is. Since every individual person has their own set of preferences in looks. A few people might think one woman is a 9/10, while another could think she's just very average looking. Same thing in terms of men. But of course in quite a bit of cases there's going to be men & women that a huge group of people find attractive & only the minority doesn't.

Yes I know but people make it seem like it is bigger than it is

Yeah, I agree. But the only thing that matters in the end is as long as you find the person you're with really attractive that's all that matters. Anyone else's opinion does not matter.

Shyness for a female is not half the negative it is for a guy. That wont turn of the majority of guys. Actually for some guys a hot woman who is modest/shy might be seen as okay, as they might assume they have a better shot with her than if she was very outgoing or talked herself up.

Yeah 4 kids will be a turn off. Did you put down how she was only interested in a LT/committed relationship?? Don't underestimate many of the guys wont have any intention to move in with her or go on many family outings or want to play father figure. Some guys will possibly contact her because of that hoping they have a shot at a hot woman because of her circumstances.(yeah thats shallow but sexy women are popular)

Minimum wage...again many of the guys wont support her for much or for long...until the novelty of a new sexy woman wears off or demands for $ get too annoying. Some older guys will play the sugar daddy to have weekly sex with a younger hottie. That's the way it works, with the assumption she gets baby sitters for the kids. Young guys with options wont do that, they still might contact her and shoot for some fun times up-front though. Hot will get attention for both sexes.

I also wish people stopped making fake profiles on OLD to prove points. This is the reason why OLD isn't working - half the profiles are fake!!

I put a blank profile with salary $1,000,000.

Nobody replied.

Guess that means, they don't like invisible men with a million bucks?? Darn. Their loss. I'll just go spend my money on a picture and a person who knows how to write an intro. Wooooo

Your shyness? Why would anyone care about that? The four kids would be the huge red flag for me!

People like beautiful people. People also like to have sex with beautiful people.

I wouldn't waste any more of your precious time on these little experiments...I could be wrong...but I don't see a Nobel Prize coming your way.

Nah, a romp should never cost more than a grand or two. Now marriage, that costs!
