I've heard that when moving on, women suffer first, but get over the suffering faster because of support from friends, family, etc. But guys don't feel the pain till about 3 weeks after the relationship ends. It's then they start missing that person, and by that time, the girl is already getting/is over the guy. Since they have no support system, it may be harder for them. Does this sound true to anyone?

I never knew there was a 'use by' date on emotional pain :)

No, it isn't true, at least not in my experience. I'm a guy, and the loss has sometimes hit me right away. I have also known women who still grieve over lost relationships, and were still pining over the man they lost months later. Everything is situational, people are people, and everyone is different, gender notwithstanding.
