Do you think okcupid is more like a networking site?

I know it's a dating site, but do married/people in LTR use it to make new friends?

No, okcupid is a dating site. If someone wants to make friends there are other sites for that. I don't know many people who are actively on dating sites for text buddies and friendships. That defeats the point and purpose of DATING site.

No, married/people in LTRs use it to have affairs.

If he told you he's using it to find friends then I have a bridge to sell you!

Hell no, an attached person on a dating site spewing that garbage about networking and only looking for friends is a head case.

Ive noticed a surprisingly high amount of women on OK Cupid have their "looking for" set to "make new friends" only. They could be trying to kid themselves that they havent resorted to online dating to find a partner/take the pressure off making a strong connection or whatever. Either way I find being on a dating site and claiming to be there only to make friends a bit nonsensical and counter intuitive, it certainly makes me move on to the next profile when I see that listed as their desired outcome.
