Surferkid12 Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 Hi all, There is this chick at my school and she is in my tutor group. When she was in 8th grade ( I was in year 9 ) We didn't really know each other to begin with but after one weekend where we stumbled across each other at the beach surfing we started to become good friends, she would often always be staring at me during morning tutor when somebody was reading out the notices and she would always ask if I've been surfing lately, plus she would smile at me all the time and say "hey". Problem was I scared back then and didn't have any guts to go up to anybody I liked and talk to them, she always had to come to me first. Earlier this year it suddenly stopped, no more eye-contact and absolutely no more asking how my weekend was. She still would smile from time to time but that was after we had a conversation on Facebook. I didn't understand what was going on and me being me I was too scared and self-concious to go up to her myself and ask, I barley talk to her in person only on Facebook because I'm afraid that there will be an awkward silence between us and she will be put off. Well 2 days ago I contacted her on facebook asking if she wanted to go for a surf, she replied "yeah that sounds like a great idea! I'm not sure what I'm doing this Saturday but I'll get back to you." I replied "Nah no worries at all! If you're too busy then don't worry about it ." Well she got back to me and this is what she said.."so so sorry but my grandad is coming down :(" I tried not to make it look like it affected me too much so I just said "Nah that's all good hope you have a great time with him! :)" and we talked for a little while about things. Have I got a chance at all or am I just dreaming about something that will never happen?? btw she is in 9th grade now and I have finished 10th ( got exams ) Cheers.
ForbiddenFruit Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 You aren't being creepy at all, and it's hard to tell if this girl was making an excuse or if it was real. I say its high school have fun! experiment! because after high school no one remembers anything so if you want to, then do it while you can. But remember it is just high school don't get too serious and get your heart broken or break her heart. Have fun but don't be too serious. Just know that relationships do come with a price, & they aren't always happy. I hope you guys can bring each other happiness, Best of luck to you(:
