Almond_Joy Posted November 20, 2014 Posted November 20, 2014 Hi everyone, I got my Bachelor's from Devry. I have yet to meet anyone personal or professional that doesnt think this school's a complete joke, and I've had this degree for 4 years. So now, instead of trying to get a master's, I'm thinking a bachelor's from a more respected school may be a better investment. What do you guys think? All my work experience is in admin, so the most closely related choice for study would be a business or HR degree. But I've always been interested in IT, specifically networking and database development. An entry level IT job, if I could get one, would pay better than what I make now in admin.....so that's my other question, if I do go back to school, which course of study would be most sensible for realistically getting me a well paying job after graduation?
endlessabyss Posted November 20, 2014 Posted November 20, 2014 I'd study IT, but just because you get the degree doesn't mean you'll land a job in that field. If you do pursue IT, make sure you have a strong network, because that will most likely determine how far you go. It's really more about who you know than your credentials.
