tory1012 Posted November 20, 2014 Posted November 20, 2014 So my ex got in contact with me about 2 days ago and told me that he started dating somebody else, but ended it because he kept thinking of me. He said that he really wants me back. Now I've pretty much dealt with heart wrenching feelings that were there at the initial stages of the break-up and I have in fact meet somebody else. I'm completely torn now on what to do. I really like the person i've met however I still love my ex. How does one make these choices? I would be afraid of going back to the ex for the same thing to happen again. Also I feel as if I'll loose somebody great if I go back to the ex. The new person is so great and treats me really well. Has anybody been in the same position as this and could help me?

Your ex is probably an ex for a reason. And as Invictus said, that's the problem with dating before you're completely past the thought of reconciliation. Some people don't ever become indifferent with an ex, but it doesn't mean they would take them back. You're not at that point, which is why I think you shouldn't get serious with anyone until you KNOW you wouldn't get back with an ex. 1
