rowi1116 Posted March 17, 2005 Posted March 17, 2005 okay, this is rather strange. i have been hanging around my boyfriend's place...and well...i have noticed that his sofa has a sort of....odor...a body odor to it. it stinks! literally. i dont think i can deal with it anymore! what do i do? what do i say to not hurt his feelings???? he is fairly comfy living in his bachelor pad word. its his house, no one else lives there, and really does he not notice? he is rarely there....which would make the odor more ovious when you walk in the first time right?? okay, would greatly appreciate some advice!!!!
tanbark813 Posted March 17, 2005 Posted March 17, 2005 I had this nice lambskin jacket that I wore out all the time. My ex one day told me that it stinks. She said it smelled like leather that had been sweat in several times. I personally never thought it smelled bad so it was actually a surprise to me. I had it cleaned, she said it smelled a thousand times better, though it smelled pretty much the same to me. So my point is, he probably doesn't even realize it smells. If you mention it to him nicely and suggest he clean it--or have someone come and clean it--I'm sure it won't be a big deal. Just don't give him too hard a time about it. Maybe even throw in something about since he's so manly, it's only expected that his testosterone would drip onto the surrounding furniture.

life loser Posted March 17, 2005 Posted March 17, 2005 if you love him, throuh it out and buy him a new one
Donut Posted March 17, 2005 Posted March 17, 2005 He probably doesn't notice. Buy some febreeze, say you did some freshening up at your place, "wow, this stuff is great!", then offer to freshen his place up. Or mention nicely and tactfully that his sofa stinks, he may have noticed but not got round to cleaning it? Febreeze that sofa!

Illusion24 Posted March 17, 2005 Posted March 17, 2005 Yo' s*** stinks, clean the b!tch!!! That's what I would say..make a joke about it
Hund1976 Posted March 17, 2005 Posted March 17, 2005 Just wait till one day when you're both lying on the sofa and then say "hey this chair kind of smells, we should get it cleaned" most guys wouldn't mind a girl saying that. If it wasn't for girls most guys would be sitting on their 10 year old futons their neighbor put out in the trash last summer in their boxers and wifebeaters. Its a girls job in a relationship to make sure her man doesn't live in filth and dresses half-decently.
rowi1116 Posted March 18, 2005 Posted March 18, 2005 thanks everyone....so i guess i must tell him....which i have been dying to do....and from what your advice has been most guys say they would not mind if it was said in a nice way.....thanks!!!
