So what exactly is considered the average man's dating and sexual history?

Really, just what is the average male dating and sexual lifestyle? This following quote from a recent thread inspired my post:

In my extensive experience amongst men, it comes down to this; few men like their partner to be highly sexually experienced. It's always a gut punch to know. Some are better at putting on a brave face, or bull****ting about being grateful for it making them better in bed, or exploiting it as a means to appear laid back, but basically, they don't want more than single digits. This is why women always lowball and downplay.

 

My personal prejudice exposed, in my experience and to my understanding, most men don't get anywhere near the experience women do. I've long believed the old axiom that there are a small number of men shagging most of the women. As far as I can gather, every single one of the men I know have a handful of women in their past at best, mostly opposing their partners; even the couple guys married early to their first loves, their wives got a few in before meeting them. It's been a source of amusement to me since my teen years that the unthinking unseeing masses continue to believe men are the conquest seeking highly sexed gender. They're so wildly offbase it's unbelievable, and it's purely as a result of traditional male bluster and bravado vs traditional female holding of the tongue.

 

I have always considered myself an average guy. Im decent looking, in good shape, a great sense of humor, nice style, and decent career outlook. Im in my late 20s and have a partner count in the mid teens. It's likely that I hit 20 before I settle down and meet the right woman for me.

 

Personally I have always felt my partner count was average for my age...especially since I have friends who have counts a fair bit higher and lower. But then I read different forums online, and read different studies...and it appears a lot of guys dont even break 10 partners in their lifetime. Many apparently dont even get close to this.

 

So Im kinda left puzzled. Because I never felt my dating life was stupendous. Ive had two failed relationships, and a string of flings that left much to be desired. And half of the women Ive been with I havent been greatly into. And Ive also had my periods of annoyingly long drought...as well as a couple periods where I played around with options.

 

All in all, nothing spectacular...and Im still trying to find my way...learning much about myself along the way. I guess I just find myself fascinated by sex and dating...and wonder where others place themselves on the sex scale.

Whats your age, and partner count? It doesnt have to be exact. You can give a range the way I did. Also, what would you consider average? Ive always considered average being someone who averaged about 1 to 1.5 partners per year based on when they lost their virginity.

For example...say someone loses their V-card at 16 years old and is now 26. I always felt a count from 10 to 15 was pretty common...and then getting over 20 is when you started being considered higher than average. I always assumed a few relationships with fling periods in between were common. Ya know..the typical...fall in love...relationship...heartbreak...single casual dating period...and then repeat that sequence a few times.

I try to keep my number lower than most guys. I think I've done a pretty good job.

 

After all, it wouldn't be fair for me to really be harsh on women who sleep around while I hypocritically did the same. Granted, I don't have the lowest number, but I'm proud of being able to keep it on the lower end.

Mid-40s, 4 partners. First partner at age 19 and married at 26 -- a little over 1/2 a partner per year. No casual sex or flings of any sort. I figure I'm way behind the average man and probably further behind the average woman.

This is a difficult question, guys tend to exaggerate, especially in real life. I'll be as honest as I feel comfortable with.

 

I'm 30, lost virginity at 14, was in a relationship from 19-26 and then again from 27-29, my number is somewhere between 30-50. The truth is I don't know exactly. Many of these were when I was 18, probably about a third, the others were a couple of single periods and currently I've been single for about a year and a half and built up quite a large number. It gets easier as I get older,especially as the girls don't seem to. My average age difference seems to be about 8 years downwards with one accidently 13 years younger when I was 29.

 

I don't really talk about this with girls I date unless they ask me a direct question, and then they seem to want to tell me about their number but tbh I don't really care either way. I would say I'm about the average these days.

What would I say is "average". I think by 25, the average guy in the US has been with 2-4 women. By 30, it's probably around 7-10. Average mind you.
