She was supposed to buy her plane ticket a month ago, now she put it off again She also gave me another "test" - which was to ask if I could have certain family come and visit us...and I said "yes". So, next year, I am ready to get back into dating...I intend to bring home "company" - if it reaches to that level. I have no intentions of tippy-toeing in my OWN HOUSE!!! I mean, it's hard enough people may think the house is my mum's (as if "I'm" dependent on my mom in my 30's), but I also feel awkward making out on the couch and or getting crazy in the bedroom with mum upstairs and/or in the other room. Guys (gals may also chime in) how would you feel about dating a chick who's parent lives with them? Would you feel awkward? How so? Do I need to lay down some rules with mum?

I don't think it should be a problem at all, moreso with the explanation, Any guy worth his salt should see this as considerate, without trepidation. If a guy can't see how sweet you are to take care of your mom, Then make out on the couch with someone else and let that guy move along.

Do you want/mind her living with you. If so, then would you want to date someone who didn't respect that? I guess I have a dog in this fight as the saying goes, or rather I did. I moved in and lived with my ailing mother the last 4 years of her life. I was single, and I was dating. The women I dated all knew I was living with my mother. Anyone that had a problem with it, well, they never said anything to me. The only issues you may run into, and I know I did, is one of intimacy. Sounds to me as if your mother is fine, and much more mobile than mine was.
me85 Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 Your mom lives with you. You don't live with her. I doubt a man would have a problem with that. Just make sure you only go out with men who have their own places so the two of you have somewhere to have sex! haha
