wjh Posted March 17, 2005 Posted March 17, 2005 I really like this professor, but I think I like him more in a way that I hope we can be friends, cos we've got similar interests and he just seems like a really interesting person. I'm not looking to date anyone now anyways. But, it's so hard to find occasions to talk to him, cos he's always surrounded by students after class, and during office hours, his colleagues are next door etc. When we do talk though, it's been very enjoyable conversations, mainly because I knew him from outside class before this semester when I ended up taking his class. I know he's nice to all his students, but it feels like different between us, I guess from the conversations we had, it seems like we know each other more, not just in textbook context (we talk about our life, interests etcetc). Do you think there is way to be friends with a professor? But note that this professor is young, i know also a lot of ppl think he's hot, (even he's new this year, he's getting very popular in the department already), not just because he's hot, cos he's a great teacher, always gives help when students need it and is good at explaining materials. But, the problem is, I'm a girl, I don't know if I can ever be friends with him,since he's so young and hot, and I'm not the nerdy type, and may pass as cute or hot to some too (honest). He's only like 8 years older than me, and I have many older good friends too anyways, so I feel like, from our similar circumstances and interests, we can make good friends. Especially when I don't have many real good friends in this area/ at this school, and I know him too he told me since he's new in this area. I'm just so glad to find someone who can be a potential good friend... but I can't go to his office hours and talk about our lives, not academic work, and I don't see him much outside class. ... Just wanna make a friend... is that possible? What can I do? ><

(..I tried all I could to avoid the student-professor situation, but my other sessions just wouldn't work with my schedule... :-/ )
