I live in an area with a low population density. I dated someone for eight months who found me on one of the larger dating sites. Those, btw, are the only ones that may have a smaller population of singles in our area.

He broke up with me, and accused me of stalking, which was silly. That just as an aside.

As I made my way back into the dating world, I found him on "our" site as well. I posted my profile there, not thinking much about it, figuring the sea is large enough for the both of us. He must have removed his profile there at some point. I removed mine, but left a skeleton up for their forums. I removed it because I was receiving very creepy responses, and the population of males in my area reminded me of mug shots of sex offenders. So I moved to match, put up my profile, and found his there as well. Since my search criteria were not geared towards him, once again, I thought the pool was large enough for both. He took his profile down once again.

Was I violating some unspoken post-dating etiquette? I don't get it. Was I not supposed to post on the same site? As much as I wish there were other choices, there aren't. Those two, and a third one which I really loathe, are pretty much where one would find any fishes.

Why do I even care?

No. You didn't. He may have just blocked you not taken his profile down. Blocking is probably the appropriate etiquette.

Can you even block someone if they never contacted you?

Mrin, I was just reading the 2014 NC Guide. I am in NC, and have no intentions breaking it, either. This guy treated me very poorly, lied, used me, and stole money from me. I think I can do better. I just read somewhere that in order to disappear from someone's view on Match, one has to contact Match and file a complaint said someone in order for Match to selectively block that profile from view.

I think you can block pretty easy in match. Has been a while since I used it. OKC is even easier. If you see him again on any site, just block and remove him from your results.
