dragonfire13 Posted November 13, 2014 Posted November 13, 2014 (edited) So post-breakup I'm a firm believer of removing exes on social media, IM apps etc. However, I leave a couple of social media outlets (Twitter and Instagram) public as I have a lifestyle/travel blog and it's a good way to share arty pics/general self-improvement tips. The thing is, a couple of guys and exes like to check up on me on there. They're not following me on either sites, but I get random notifications of them liking pictures/favouriting tweets. I'm pretty sure they're accidental as the notifications disappear soon after. This has made me a little self-conscious about posting things and I've considered making my pages private. My friends have commented that I shouldn't change my habits because of some guys from the past, and that if they're looking, I should take this opportunity to let these particular douchebag exes see that I'm moving on with my life and having fun. So what dya think? Have some privacy or keep the pages open? Edited November 13, 2014 by dragonfire13
Brimstone Posted November 13, 2014 Posted November 13, 2014 I keep my stuff open. If they want to stalk/follow me, that's their business. I'm not following them back nor do I care about anything they're up to. If you feel these people are interfering with you moving on/life in general, then you should block them.
Author dragonfire13 Posted November 13, 2014 Author Posted November 13, 2014 Thanks for the response. I don't feel like they're stopping me from moving on per se as there is no contact and I'm happy to keep it that way. The only effect it has on me is 1) being self conscious/surprised when I get the random notifications and 2) being slightly flattered that these exes are still curious about what I'm up to months after a breakup. I also find it kind of amusing when the notifications appear/disappear
evanescentworld Posted November 13, 2014 Posted November 13, 2014 Whatever you do is up to you; I just felt moved to comment in gratitude for your correct use of the term 'per se'.....
