Gloria25 Posted November 12, 2014 Posted November 12, 2014 I was listening to my podcast the other day and this guy called in and said he wanted to break the habit of dating younger chicks. My podcaster raised the question of whether or not he wanted some ditzy young chick that was naive and impressionable, or a mature woman to "elevate" him, to put expectations on him. Over the years, I've heard this issue be raised. Think of Beyonce's song "Upgrade U", bla bla. So, I ask myself, would you prefer to be with someone who: 1. Holds you back? I mean, they are a slacker, lazy, and just fill you up with kids and bills. If you dare start going to the gym, they mock you and make fun of you coming home and smelling sweaty. They want you in that pig sty with them and if you start clawing out, they wanna drag you back in. 2. Stagnant? I mean, while they aren't making your RL worst, they aren't making it any better either. It's a boring, ho-hum wash, rinse, and repeat lifestyle. And, lets say you stop keeping up your appearance around them - eh, they could care less. So you two just sit there in a nasty stew growing like mold. 3. Elevates? I mean, he/she introduces you to new things. You look at him/her and say - hey, I like how he/she dresses and you start dressing better. You want to impress him/her by getting a better job/education, etc. You can actually say to yourself and your friends that this person made you "a better person".
