I admit it, I refuse to date unattractive men.

lol wtf. So you're saying that every single woman that's in their mid 20s & beyond that doesn't want to get married just wants to date or sleep around the rest of their life? There's women that are in healthy relationships with men where neither side wants to be married.

That is called "dating" genius.

There is some scholarly research that shows that people usually form lasting relationships with people who are similar to them... In age, finances, and looks.

People like to focus on the exceptions only because, well, the exceptions stand out.

If you aren't interested in a lasting relationship (whatever that means to you) then anything goes.

People go for the best they can get. Just like I said.

Dating & Relationships are two different things. With dating you could be going out with more than one person to see who you match the best with with no commitments, while a relationship is exclusive between you & another person.

If you are not married to the person.. then you are "dating" them. I repeat: If you are not married to the person.. you are DATING them.

Read it 50 times if you need to.

It's not the same thing. I guess if that's what you want to believe than so be it. But dating is when there's no commitment/exclusivity, while being in a relationship is just exclusively being with 1 other person & not going on dates anymore.

Yeah.. its called a relationship.. but until you're married you're dating them. There are no real titles outside the law. So either you're married or dating. Sorry.

It's called a domestic partnership but whatever.

Clearly this notion of yours that "women only go for the best they can get" is not shared by many and it's obvious your feelings on the matter and logic behind it only pertain to what you feel is "the best" for someone else:rolleyes:. So, that said, this particular topic doesn't really need to be debated anymore as it's wholly irrelevant to the original discussion.

I find it hilarious how the this thread tickled the insecurities of some posters on here, if you actually read what she writes and how she expresses herself, it is not meant to ignite a gender war or denigrate anyone.

You are wrong so you give up. Walking away doesn't mean you're right either. But nice try.

Just to show you how wrong you are.. let me ask you a quick question: Do you believe most women DON'T go for the best man they can get?

I was trying to walk away because it's pointless to argue. Every interaction I have with you comes to this point so why go around in circles?Yet again. That's absolute insanity.

This is a ridiculous question with no right answer 1) because you'll disagree with me either way and 2) you have yet to specify what constitutes as "the best". The best what!?

The best she can get in HER eyes.

Exactly. The best in her eyes. Who else's eyes matter?

I fail to see any issue at all with women looking for the best man in her eyes. Seems like a winning strategy to me.

What about those who don't want to get married at all?

Right. My deepest fear would be that I'd accidentally marry a delusional guy and be condemned to a life of circular arguments.

As I noticed the thread slipping into editorial commentary on fellow members, I'll ask that we steer this back to the topic of refusing (or not) to date unattractive men. Thanks!

I'm glad the OP came out and said it.

We all have a different idea of what ''attractive'' is, and I am a firm believer that (to a point at least) there has to be some level of physical attraction.

Some people like to pretend that they would date anyone/anytime/anywhere, but most of them are just trying to behave in a politically correct manner.

I'll come right out and say it myself...I don't date overweight women. I'm a big fitness nut myself and generally expect the same of my partner, naturally I find fit women more attractive than overweight women.

Its about time people started being honest about this kind of thing and stop worrying about saying the PC thing.
